Bug#872554: nautilus no longer shows user-mountable nfs and samba shares in left panel
Package: nautilus Version: 3.22.3-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, After some recent system upgrade this month, when I open nautilus I no longer see the list of mountable nfs and samba shares in the left panel. All the nfs shares are defined in fstab, in the following way: : /media// nfs4 rw,relatime,vers=4.0,rsize=1048576,wsize=1048576,hard,proto=tcp,port=0,timeo=600,retrans=2,noatime,noauto,users,_netdev 0 0 And for all the samba shares: /// /media// cifs rw,guest,noauto,uid=1000,iocharset=utf8,users,_netdev 0 0 With , , and being the only things changing in the configuration. If I mount the share from command line, with mount /media// Then nautilus shows the mounted share in the left panel, right below my Google Drive entry, but the share disappears again as soon as unmounted. -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (200, 'unstable'), (101, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.11.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages nautilus depends on: ii desktop-file-utils 0.23-2 ii gsettings-desktop-schemas 3.24.0-2 ii gvfs 1.30.4-1+b1 ii libatk1.0-02.24.0-1 ii libc6 2.24-12 ii libcairo-gobject2 1.14.10-1 ii libcairo2 1.14.10-1 ii libexempi3 2.4.3-1 ii libexif12 0.6.21-2+b2 ii libgail-3-03.22.18-1 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.36.5-2 ii libglib2.0-0 2.53.4-3 ii libglib2.0-data2.53.4-3 ii libgnome-autoar-0-00.1.1-4+b1 ii libgnome-desktop-3-12 3.22.2-1 ii libgtk-3-0 3.22.18-1 ii libnautilus-extension1a3.22.3-1 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.40.6-1 ii libselinux12.6-3+b2 ii libtracker-sparql-1.0-01.12.1-1 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.4-3 ii nautilus-data 3.22.3-1 ii shared-mime-info 1.8-1 Versions of packages nautilus recommends: ii gnome-sushi 3.24.0-1 ii gvfs-backends1.30.4-1+b1 ii librsvg2-common 2.40.18-1 Versions of packages nautilus suggests: ii brasero 3.12.1-4 ii eog 3.20.5-1+b1 ii evince [pdf-viewer] 3.22.1-4 ii nautilus-sendto 3.8.4-2+b1 ii totem3.22.1-1 ii tracker 1.12.1-1 ii vlc [mp3-decoder]2.2.6-3+b1 ii xdg-user-dirs0.15-2+b1 -- no debconf information
Bug#851928: linux-image-4.9.0-1-amd64: Kernel 4.9 fails to boot on Thinkpad T440p
Package: src:linux Version: 4.9.2-2 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, After upgrading my Thinkpad T440p to linux-image-amd64 from unstable (along with linux-headers-amd64, linux-doc, linux-perf, linux-source and linux-tools), I am unable to boot with the 4.9.2 kernel. Right after GRUB times out, the screen goes blank and nothing happens. According to this page https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=191121 There's already a patch that can be applied to 4.9.2 in order to solve the issue. At work I have a Lenovo laptop (not Thinkpad), and the system boots properly with the kernel from unstable, so it seems to be a Thinkpad-only issue. -- Package-specific info: ** Kernel log: boot messages should be attached ** Model information sys_vendor: LENOVO product_name: 20ANCTO1WW product_version: ThinkPad T440p chassis_vendor: LENOVO chassis_version: Not Available bios_vendor: LENOVO bios_version: GLET85WW (2.39 ) board_vendor: LENOVO board_name: 20ANCTO1WW board_version: Win8 STD DPK TPG ** Network interface configuration: source /etc/network/interfaces.d/* auto lo iface lo inet loopback ** PCI devices: 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor DRAM Controller [8086:0c04] (rev 06) Subsystem: Lenovo ThinkPad T440p [17aa:220e] Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx- Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- SERR- Kernel modules: ie31200_edac 00:01.0 PCI bridge [0604]: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor PCI Express x16 Controller [8086:0c01] (rev 06) (prog-if 00 [Normal decode]) Control: I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx+ Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- SERR- TAbort- Reset- FastB2B- PriDiscTmr- SecDiscTmr- DiscTmrStat- DiscTmrSERREn- Capabilities: Kernel driver in use: pcieport Kernel modules: shpchp 00:01.1 PCI bridge [0604]: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor PCI Express x8 Controller [8086:0c05] (rev 06) (prog-if 00 [Normal decode]) Control: I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx+ Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- SERR- TAbort- Reset- FastB2B- PriDiscTmr- SecDiscTmr- DiscTmrStat- DiscTmrSERREn- Capabilities: Kernel driver in use: pcieport Kernel modules: shpchp 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation 4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0416] (rev 06) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Lenovo 4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller [17aa:221d] Control: I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx+ Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- SERR- Kernel driver in use: i915 Kernel modules: i915 00:03.0 Audio device [0403]: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor HD Audio Controller [8086:0c0c] (rev 06) Subsystem: Lenovo ThinkPad T440p [17aa:220e] Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx+ Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- SERR- Kernel driver in use: snd_hda_intel Kernel modules: snd_hda_intel 00:14.0 USB controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 8 Series/C220 Series Chipset Family USB xHCI [8086:8c31] (rev 04) (prog-if 30 [XHCI]) Subsystem: Lenovo ThinkPad T440p [17aa:220e] Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx+ Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort- SERR- Kernel driver in use: xhci_hcd Kernel modules: xhci_pci 00:16.0 Communication controller [0780]: Intel Corporation 8 Series/C220 Series Chipset Family MEI Controller #1 [8086:8c3a] (rev 04) Subsystem: Lenovo ThinkPad T440p [17aa:220e] Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx+ Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- SERR- Kernel driver in use: mei_me Kernel modules: mei_me 00:16.3 Serial controller [0700]: Intel Corporation 8 Series/C220 Series Chipset Family KT Controller [8086:8c3d] (rev 04) (prog-if 02 [16550]) Subsystem: Lenovo 8 Series/C220 Series Chipset Family KT Controller [17aa:220e] Control: I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx- Status: Cap+ 66MHz+ UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- SERR- Kernel driver in use: serial 00:19.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Intel Corporation

Bug#837786: mutter: Issues repainting the display on mouse movement
Package: mutter Version: 3.21.92-1 Severity: grave Justification: causes non-serious data loss Dear Maintainer, After upgrading my system this morning and restarting a new gnome-shell session (by rebooting), everything being displayed fails to repaint properly. Everytime I launch an application and try to move the window it leaves traces (i.e., shadows of its previous positions). The same happens on mouse hover. Also, the clock (on the top desktop) flickers constantly. Something similar happens with the title bar in certain applications (e.g., vivaldi). Since the only packages upgraded were related to mutter and gnome-shell, I figure the one to blame is mutter. I tried upgrading mutter to the version in unstable, but the result is the same. There is also no difference by using the classic gnome session or the wayland session ---although, with wayland, the flickering and repainting is slightly less frequent. I tried recording the desktop session (with GNOME's screencast functionality), but funnily the flickering stops while recording. -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (200, 'unstable'), (101, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.7.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages mutter depends on: ii gsettings-desktop-schemas 3.21.4-2 ii libc6 2.23-5 ii libglib2.0-0 2.49.6-1 ii libmutter0i3.21.92-1 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.3-1 ii libxcomposite1 1:0.4.4-1 ii mutter-common 3.21.92-1 ii zenity 3.20.0-1 Versions of packages mutter recommends: ii gnome-session [x-session-manager] 3.20.2-1 Versions of packages mutter suggests: ii gnome-control-center 1:3.21.90-1 ii xdg-user-dirs 0.15-2 -- no debconf information
Bug#822525: gnome-todo: Memory leak while loading local and remote lists
Package: gnome-todo Version: 3.20.0-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, The new gnome-todo (which, excepct for the list mode in the List View, and the time labels in the Schedule View, does exactly the same as the previous version), now uses about 800 MB to display four lists, three local and one remote. I tried to run valgrind (with evolution and evolution-data-server symbols installed), but gnome-todo got stuck trying to load the third, local, list (i.e., valgrind had a 100% CPU usage for 10 straight minutes). After ending valgrind, the memory in use was about 400 MB. Bug#755981: evolution-data-server: evolution-calendar-factory consumes 100% CPU all the time, calendar events are not handled at all and evolution becomes useless
Package: evolution-data-server Version: 3.12.2-1 Severity: normal After upgrading most of the remaining GNOME to 3.12 from Unstable, the evolution-data-server consumes 100% CPU all the time, but the calendar in shell's top bar doesn't display any event/task/appointment. Furthermore, after opening evolution, the Saving user interface message is displayed at the status bar, and selecting any folder in the left pane (e.g., Inbox, Sent, Trash) does not display its contents. I tried downgrading the evolution-related packages, but the behavior is the same. I also tried deleting ~/.{cache,config,local/share}/evolution and restoring from the backup I made before the 3.12 upgrade, but after restoring the behavior is the same. After installing evolution-dbg and evolution-data-server-dbg and restarting the desktop session, when trying either CALDAV_DEBUG=all /usr/lib/evolution /evolution-calendar-factory ~/e-c-f-caldav.log or WEBCAL_DEBUG=1 /usr/lib/evolution/evolution-calendar-factory ~/e-c-f-webcal.log, all I get in the logs is: Bus name 'org.gnome.evolution.dataserver.Calendar4' acquired. So far the only workaround that prevents the battery from being drained (since evolution-calendar-factory makes the rate jump from 15W to 40W), was renaming/disabling the evolution-calendar-factory file in /usr/lib/evolution ---since simply killing evolution-calendar-factory just makes it restart. Bug#724876: gedit: Gedit reverts to default accels on start-up
Package: gedit Version: 3.8.3-3+b1 Severity: normal In gedit 3.8, after changing some of the menu shortcuts and restarting, those changes are lost. Steps to reproduce: 1. Enable can-change-accels in org.gnome.desktop.interface 2. Open a text file in gedit 3. Assign an accelerator to a menu item (e.g., Ctrl+U to EditChange CaseInvert Case) 4. Try the new accelerator (it works!) 5. Close all instances of gedit and reopen 6. Try the new accelerator (it doesn't work!) Bug#690587: nautilus-emblems: Emblems tab does not appear in nautilus properties if the rabbitvcs-nautilus package is installed
Package: nautilus-emblems Version: 0.1.0-2 Severity: important Tags: upstream Dear Maintainer, The Emblems tab in nautilus properties works properly, unless the rabbitvcs- nautilus package is installed, in which case it does not appear at all.
