Maybe we should tell start-stop-daemon to wait 'forever' until the process
is really dead before we restart it?
According to start-stop-daemon(8), the options should be:
start-stop-daemon --stop --signal $SIGNAL --quiet --pidfile $PIDFILE
--retry=TERM/10/KILL/forever
I just had this bug
The problem with the build error is due to the fact that some of the
mutex defines were removed in 2.6.24.
You can find patches for this by just googling for DEFINE_MUTEX_LOCKED
lirc_dev.c. One of those patches is here:

I can confirm that kinputwizard also fails for a Dell Bluetooth Travel

Package: mysql-server-5.0
Version: 5.0.18-7
Followup-For: Bug #349258
I was getting the same behavior when trying to upgrade from
mysql-server-4.1 to mysql-server-5.0. I ultimately tracked it down to
the fact that I had some old ISAM tables, which mySQL 5 doesn't support.
They have to be upgraded

Although Vincent's followup made a reference to it, it was a brief
