Bug#675709: /usr/share/texmf-texlive/scripts/texcount/texcount.pl: Syntax: TeXcount.pl, but filename is texcount

2012-06-02 Thread Jonas Stein

texcount --help
and
texcount

Syntax: TeXcount.pl [options] files

but on debian stable the script has to be started with texcount

-- Package-specific info:
If you report an error when running one of the TeX-related binaries
(latex, pdftex, metafont,...), or if the bug is related to bad or wrong
output, please include a MINIMAL example input file that produces the
error in your report.

Please run your example with
(pdf)latex -recorder ...
(or any other program that supports -recorder) and send us the generated
file with the extension .fls, it lists all the files loaded during
the run and can easily explain problems induced by outdated files in
your home directory.

Don't forget to also include minimal examples of other files that are
needed, e.g. bibtex databases. Often it also helps
to include the logfile. Please, never send included pictures!

If your example file isn't short or produces more than one page of
output (except when multiple pages are needed to show the problem),
you can probably minimize it further. Instructions on how to do that
can be found at

http://www.latex-einfuehrung.de/mini-en.html (english)

or

Bug#644837: RFP: clip -- CLIP is a software for the analysis of Laue patterns

2011-10-09 Thread Jonas Stein
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

here is a screenshot:
http://clip.berlios.de/Clip4.png

i do not know a similar programm for debian. It is still unstable,
but can already be used to get fast and precise calculations

* Package name: clip
  Version : 4
  Upstream Author : ?
* URL : http://clip.berlios.de/
* License : GPL 3
  Programming Lang: C++, qt
Description : CLIP is a software for the analysis of Laue patterns

The Cologne Laue Indexation Program, or short CLIP, is a software for the
analysis of Laue patterns.

Clip can simulate Laue patterns for arbitrary settings of crystal and detection
plane. Moreover it allows to determine the crystal orientation from spots and
zones marked on a Laue photograph. Multiple image formats might be loaded,
including the Bruker sfrm format used e.g. by the Bruker Apex detector, the
Multiwire hs2 format used by the MWL110 Real-time Back-reflection Laue Camera
System and the formats of Fuji BAS and Dürr image plate scanners. More formats
could be added by request. The angles to rotate the crystal in the desired
orientation could be calculated for arbitary goniometer configurations. The
program is written in the C++ language and the cross platform toolkit Qt. It
runs on Windows, Linux and MacOS X.

Clip is free software released under the terms of the GNU General Public
License and may therefore be used and even modified at no charge.

is important to get the seamarks

A basemap with not to much details would fit well.
Users can view and analyse their gps-Logs from sea with Prune then.

Why ÖPNV-karte as base layer? :)
Also considering that ÖPNV only covers Europe, it doesn't seem a good
choice

for a worldwide project like Debian ;)

I'd use Mapnik, or some less detailed one, but still a worldwide one.

you are right.
I used ÖPNV-Karte because it is extremely fast and has less details.
Perhaps the baselayer should be something different, as you wrote already...

Bug#634079: qelectrotech: the symbols differ depending on the standard, need a tag for it

2011-07-16 Thread Jonas Stein
Package: qelectrotech
Version: 0.30.r1078-2
Severity: wishlist

there are different symbols for the same thing in different countries
(different standards)

One example could be EN 60617
You will find the symbols here:
http://www.cpnv-automation.ch/doc/ref_617.pdf

I suggest to add a tag to each symbol, that describes what standard
it belongs to.

In far future it would be perfect if the user could switch the standard form
US to EU and all symbols are changed.

needs:
* Symbols have the same number of connectors
* the connectors are on the same Position in each flavour
* symbols have nearly the same size

Bug#627625: installation of sisu without installation of db server

2011-05-22 Thread Jonas Stein
Package: sisu
Severity: wishlist

i think sisu can work without sql server.

Selecting 'sisu' and 'sisu-pdf' suggests 'sisu-postgresql'

In some environments its forbidden to install a db server,
but it might be allowed to run a local sisu text converter.

So it would be nice to install sisu without any sql deamons/server
after selecting 'sisu'.

Bug#627629: short justification why 'foo' can not substitute 'sisu'

2011-05-22 Thread Jonas Stein
Package: sisu
Severity: wishlist

may be i did not search well enough, but i did not find a justification
why 'foo' can not substitute 'sisu'. Even on irc #sisu i could not get
the answer.

*) With foo i mean the whole farm of markup languages with their
corresponding converters like REST, Docbook and so on.

I would be nice to find a short hint like sisu can do x and y while
others can only do x or y

This might be a important part of the package description.

Bug#626829: aptitude suggestion for more precise status message 123 [+23]

2011-05-15 Thread Jonas Stein
Package: aptitude
Version: 0.6.3-4
Severity: wishlist

improved output for Aptitude:

current output:
Current status: 894 updates [+60], 4051 new [-20]

The meaning of these numbers is not documented in the manpage yet.
I discussed this topic with other experienced debian users. I came to
the conclusion that even for many of them it is not clear what the numbers
exactly mean.

suggestion 1:
Current status: updates for 894 installed packages avaiable [+60] compared to
last run
4051 new packages avaiable [-20] compared to last run

suggestion 2: (could be used for manpage too)
Current status: 894 updates [+60], 4051 new [-20]
The number in brackets compares to the last run of update
wich was on 2011-03-27 (9 days ago)

Bug#625912: qelectrotech: Segmentation fault

2011-05-06 Thread Jonas Stein
Package: qelectrotech
Version: 0.30.r1272-1
Severity: important

i tried the unstable version from
deb http://scorpio810.blogdns.net/qelectrotech/ unstable main
deb-src http://scorpio810.blogdns.net/qelectrotech/ unstable main

and installed it manual with
dpkg -i qelectrotech_0.30.r1272-1_i386.deb

qelectrotech does not start.
It just prints out:
Segmentation fault

I suppose qelectrotech-data is missing and causes trouble.
qelectrotech could check on init, if all vital files are present.

This bugreport is just for your information, i know its 'unstable'.

Bug#621464: sweethome3d: Segmentation fault on startup

Package: sweethome3d
Version: 3.1+dfsg-1
Severity: important

sweethome3d starts with splashscreen, the main frame with all buttons and
elements is visible and
then it crashes.

How to reproduce?
Just start sweethome3d. It happens always.

bash output:

Java 3D WARNING : reported GLX version = 1.2
GLX version 1.3 or higher is required
The reported version number may be incorrect. There is a known
ATI driver bug in glXQueryVersion that incorrectly reports the GLX
version as 1.2 when it really is 1.3, so Java 3D will attempt to
run anyway.

this script gives a hint to the user which driver fits to his

May be someone can enhance this script too it does not know sid yet.
I think copypaste squeeze to sid in the script should be fine.

Bug#601960: MTXrun | unknown script 'context.lua' or 'mtx-context.lua'

2010-10-31 Thread Jonas Stein
Package: context
Version: 2009.11.26-2
Severity: important

after a fresh installation of context i am not able to use

$ context
or
$ context hello.tex

it claims:
MTXrun | unknown script 'context.lua' or 'mtx-context.lua'

on
http://wiki.contextgarden.net/How_to_configure_Scite_and_Context
i found a hint:
Have you tried running luatools --generate

as user i typed
$ luatools --generate

now it works. I think that should be included systemwide in the installation

Bug#598160: RFP: biber -- BibTeX replacement for users of biblatex

2010-09-26 Thread Jonas Stein
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: biber
  Version : 0.5.5
  Upstream Author : mailadress_was_not_availa...@the_sourceforge_project.site
* URL : http://biblatex-biber.sourceforge.net/
* License : Artistic License, GNU General Public License (GPL)
  Programming Lang: Perl
Description : BibTeX replacement for users of biblatex

The biblatex package by Philipp Lehman is likely to become the definitive
citation management tool for LaTeX users. Biblatex relies on the venerable
BibTeX program only for sorting and generating a very generic bbl file without
any formatting instruction. Everything else is taken care of by biblatex, which
provides a powerful and flexible macro interface for authors of citation styles.

With Biber it is no longer necessary to rely on BibTeX. For maximal
portability, the current version includes a Pure Perl BibTeX parser with a
Parse::RecDescent grammar, but if available it will use the much faster
Text::BibTeX module which relies on the btparse C library. The objective of the
first development phase is to have a robust and reliable emulation of the
BibTeX processor with the biblatex.bst style file. In other words, given the
same data file as input, biber should output a functionally identical .bbl file
as BibTeX.

In a future version, Biber will also support a new XML format tailored
specifically for biblatex data, unimaginatively called BibLaTeXML. It owes its
inspiration partly to the BibTeXML format, but it is far more complex. RelaXNG
and W3C schemata will be provided, as well as a tool for converting .bib files
to biblatexml. To parse BibLaTeXML databases the Perl module XML::LibXML is
required. There is also experimental support for Berkeley DBXML databases (with
the included Perl module Sleepycat::DbXml).

The advantages of no longer being dependent upon BibTeX are obvious: full
Unicode support, no memory limitations, extensibility, etc. In the future,
support for communication with embedded or relational databases (e.g. Berkeley
DB, SQLite, MySQL, PostgreSQL) or remote resources via network protocols (such
as SRU) might also be implemented.

Bug#587375: irssi: use significant words for parameters in the howto like MyPassword instead of pass

2010-06-27 Thread Jonas Stein
Package: irssi
Version: 0.8.15-1
Severity: wishlist

in document
/usr/share/doc/irssi/startup-HOWTO.html

it is difficult for the beginner to destinguish between keywords and options.

Example:
/NETWORK ADD -autosendcmd /^msg nickserv ident pass;wait 2000 OFTC

could be more precise:
/NETWORK ADD -autosendcmd /^msg nickserv ident MyPassword;wait 2000 OFTC

or
/NETWORK ADD -autosendcmd /^msg nickserv ident $YourSecret;wait 2000 OFTC

same applies to other parameters. Perhaps some developer has a good idea how to
improve that.
In html the use of colour or fontstyle could be helpfull too.

Thank you.
