Bug#619019: xserver-xorg-video-intel: latest update to debian squeeze made the mouse pointer invisible in my openbox/gdm session

2011-03-20 Thread LN2
Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel
Version: 2:2.13.0-6
Severity: important

The latest update to debian squeeze seems to have introduced the Bug reported
here http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=550942 .
(Upstream bug report can be found here
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29413 .),

i.e. after boot-up the mouse pointer is invisible (though otherwise fully
functional).

As described in the upstream bug report going through a hibernate or a suspend
cycle makes the mouse pointer reappear.

Apparently the fix for this problem that the upstream bug links to was not
included in the latest squeeze update.

Thanks for the replies.

Yes, it is probably a kernel problem.

And yes downgrading does fix it.

Bug#599364: aptitude: combining ?narrow and ?archive does not work as expected

2010-10-06 Thread LN2
Package: aptitude
Version: 0.6.3-3.1
Severity: normal

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

When I use a search expression like:

aptitude search '?narrow(?installed,?archive(unstable))'

I would expect to match only packages that have one version that is both
installed and in unstable.
(At least if I understood the documentation correctly)

Instead what I get is the same as:

aptitude search '?and(?installed,?archive(unstable))'

Strangely this bug does not exist for experimental or testing, i.e.:

aptitude search '?and(?installed,?archive(testing))'

did what I expected.

Bug#567475: xserver-xorg-video-intel: The latest update to testing broke some functionality on 855GM cards

2010-01-29 Thread LN2
Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel
Version: 2:2.9.1-2
Severity: important

Since the latest update of xserver-xorg-video-intel to debian testing, I have
experienced a number of problems.

Shutdown, Reboot, Hibernate, Logout cause the system to freeze with a blank
screen. The Alt+SysRq key combination does not work (I have not tried ssh yet).

Trying to switch to a text terminal with Ctrl+Alt+(F1 ... F6) causes the system
to freeze.

The video acceleration with the xv driver seems to have stopped working, e.g.
mplayer -vo xv does not work.

If you need any further information/testing please feel free to contact me.
