Can you try with gnome-shell from experimental and let me know if this still
happens?
installing the latest experimental package using aptitude (2.91.3-1)
works perfectly.

This is probably the cause. Try downgrading this package and see if it
works, please. =)
downgrading gnome-shell and mutter to 2.29 and gir1.0-glib2.0 to
0.6.14-1+b1 fixes the issue.
