Bug#803002: denemo: Please package upstream release (1.24)

2015-10-25 Thread Marwy

Source: denemo
Version: 1.1.8-2
Severity: wishlist
Tags: upstream

Dear Maintainer,

please consider packaging version 1.24 of denemo.

The version currently in Debian is outdated and also threatened
with autoremoval from testing.
I gave the inoffically packaged .deb [1] a short try. At first sight
it works like a charm and appears much more responsive than 1.1.8.

Thank you.

Bug#747916: synaptic: Missing dependencies python-gtk2 and python-glade2 to display messages

2015-10-04 Thread Marwy
Package: synaptic
Version: 0.81.4+b2
Followup-For: Bug #747916

Dear Maintainer,

the problem described above persists if only python-gtk2 is installed.
Installing python-glade2 resolves it.

Please consider adding a dependency on python-glade2 because such messages tend
to confuse (new) users.

Bug#797723: caja: xsession-errors log output

2015-09-02 Thread Marwy
Package: caja
Version: 1.8.2-3+deb8u1
Followup-For: Bug #797723

First, thank you for replying, Jean-Philippe. I picked up your intention of
giving the maintainers more details.

Here's my reproduction of the bug on my laptop including details:

1. I start caja and I know beforehand that the "show hidden files" box is
checked.

Here's the process:
$ pstree -p | grep caja
   |  |-lightdm(741)-+-mate-
session(749)-+-caja(793)-+-{dconf worker}(826)

2. Now I open the Edit->Options menu and uncheck "Show hidden files"
Caja crashes but is obviously still running with another pid:

$ pstree -p | grep caja
   |  |-lightdm(741)-+-mate-
session(749)-+-caja(1054)-+-{dconf worker}(1055)

3. Look at the xsession-errors log (/home/xyz/.xsession-errors). It says:

(caja:793): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_hash_table_foreach: assertion 'version ==
hash_table->version' failed

(caja:793): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_hash_table_foreach: assertion 'version ==

'GTK_IS_ACTION_GROUP (action_group)' failed
**
ERROR:caja-window-menus.c:415:show_hidden_files_preference_callback: assertion
failed: (GTK_IS_ACTION (action))

4. I re-open caja. "Show hidden files" is unchecked in the Options menu.

$ pstree -p | grep caja
   |  |-lightdm(741)-+-mate-
session(749)-+-caja(1054)-+-{dconf worker}(1055)

Can you confirm this behaviour in testing?

Bug#797723: caja crashes when unchecking "Show hidden files"

2015-09-01 Thread Marwy
Package: caja
Version: 1.8.2-3+deb8u1
Severity: normal

   * What led up to the situation?

I opened the Edit -> Options menu and unchecked the "show hidden files" box.
Before, this option was checked (at least for some weeks).

   * What was the outcome of this action?

Caja crashed and disappeared.

Caja only shows this behaviour when I open it and *uncheck* the box. Once the
box is unchecked (and caja crashed) and I re-open caja, "Show hidden files" is
unchecked as wished. Also I can check and uncheck "Show hidden files" without
crashing caja.

Additional information:
A similar problem was reported by Linux Mint users in 2014. See
