Bug#775663: (no subject)

2015-07-06 Thread Massimo Barbieri
Hi!
I'm not a developer but just a satisfied and excited user of Debian and
of Calibre.

I agree to assigne a severity serious rank to this bug because one of
the main goal of Debian is freedom and been absolutely sure that every
package published in the main repository is free software is very
important and it is something which we can not give up.

However calibre is a software widely used by Debian users and remove it
from the testing repository to a potential problem related to the lack
of source code will create significant problems to Debian users
themselves. Is it possible to transfer calibre in the non-free
repository until we solve this bug?

Many thanks for your work!!

Ciao,
Max-B

Bug#778812: lightdm: Fails with large ladp user database

2015-02-20 Thread Massimo Barbieri
Package: lightdm
Version: 1.10.3-3
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,
I configured my Debian 8 to autenticate users over an openldap database server.
The validation of the
credential has been done with libnss-ldapd libpam-ldapd ldap-utils nslcd. The
ldap database contains
many thousands of users. The problem is that lightdm hangs before loading the
login screen with 99% of
CPU load and it seemes it try to download the complete list of the users.

Here are the log on the ldap server:

I use systemd (...I think...)
If it helps the output of loginctl is

This is what you have when you are logged in, correct?

Yes, and in the PC in which I have only gdm the output is:

1 sessions listed.

Could you try to install libpam-systemd?

libpam-systemd is already installed

IMHO, the bug should be reassign against lightdm

I have the same problem in a PC without lightdm. I don't know if it
could help

If I try to close the session with the Gnome's top right menu it
works, but if I try to shutdown first with the Gnome's menu, agree to
the bug the PC doesn't shutdown, but even the close session stops to
work.

Best regards and thanks for your interesting.

Bug#716742: (no subject)

2013-07-12 Thread Massimo Barbieri
A new installation of ATI proprietary driver (version
8.97.100.3-120703a-143048C-ATI) solves my problem. I think that after
the dist-upgrade of yesterday something happens to my video card driver.
It seemes it is not a gnome's bug.

Bug#714724: gnome: Gnome panel doesn't appears after the login

2013-07-02 Thread Massimo Barbieri
I apologize: I sent by mistake bug report with the template without
description.

Yesterday I dist-upgraded my Debian testing and today after the login to
the gnome session the gnome panels doesn't appears. tryed to reinstall
ATI driver but it didn't solve the problem. Actually I'm running Gnome
in classic mode.

Thanks in advance for your help.
