I've opened up a wishlist bug report in sysvinit-core to set up /dev/stdin
and others because I assume it's easier to get them to correct or reverse a
problem like that.

For the future, where should one voice the annoyance when a package
repeatedly breaks other packages?

Bug#968199: Set up /dev/stdin and others

2020-08-10 Thread Matti Palmström
Package: sysvinit-core
Severity: wishlist
Version: 2.96-3

Heya

Since udev don't set up /dev/stdin and others any longer
https://github.com/systemd/systemd/commit/6b2229c6c60d0486 could this be
moved to sysvinit-core (or similar package widely used) for those of us who
don't use systemd?

Bug#968141: udevil: error 150: path changed

2020-08-09 Thread Matti Palmström
Package: udevil
Severity: important
Version: 0.4.4-2

Heya

Since of yesterday I found out I can no longer mount iso-files with udevil.
I get a
udevil: error 150: path changed
udevil: error 148: unable to attach file to loop device

Looking through the sources
https://sources.debian.org/src/udevil/0.4.4-2/src/udevil.c/ this error
happens when it can't create a directory under /dev/fd. udev don't create
that symlink since the last version, because *reasons*.

Bug#961393: pulseaudio,elogind: Can't install both

2020-05-25 Thread Matti Palmström
Ah... sorry. I'm an idiot. It was wine32 that used libsystemd0:i386 and
libelogind0 conflicted both libsystemd0 and libsystemd0:i386.

I installed both libelogind0 and libelogind0:i386 and everything just
worked. And... with elgoind I don't need xserver-xorg-legacy any longer.
Woho! Thanks for the great work.

/Matti

Bug#961393: pulseaudio,elogind: Can't install both

2020-05-23 Thread Matti Palmström
Package: pulseaudio,elogind
Severity: important
Version: pulseaudio/13.0-5 elogind/241.3-1+debian3

Heya

I was gonna try to install elogind but then aptitude (and apt) wants to
uninstall a lot. After a bit of reading dependencies I realised that you
can't have elogind and pulseaudio at the same time since libpulse0 depends
on libsystemd0. This also make it impossible to use elogind and wine since
wine depends on libpulse0. Would be nice to have the possibility to at
least try out elogind.

Bug#903809: Add qtwebengine5-dev-tools to suggests

2018-07-14 Thread Matti Palmström
Package: falkon
Version: 3.0.0-3
Severity: wishlist

qwebengine_convert_dict in qtwebengine5-dev-tools is used to convert
Hunspell dictionaries (.dic) to the special format used by Chromium
and Falkon .bdic, but it's not entirely obvious what package contains
it. Therefore I think qtwebengine5-dev-tools should be added as
suggests to Falkon.

Bug#849424: RFP: Adobe Flash PPAPI -- Adobe flash for Pepper plugin API

2016-12-26 Thread Matti Palmström
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: flashplugin-nonfree-ppapi
  Version : 24.0
  Upstream Author : Adobe
* URL : https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

* License : Non-free
  Programming Lang:
Description : Download script for Adobe Flash PPAPI

Since Google don't update the pepper flash plugin for i386 any longer
it would be nice with an alternative for those who uses Chromium on
i386.

I assume it should be easy to use flashplugin-nonfree as a base for
this. Also add an AMD64 version for those who by some reason want to
run Adobe's PPAPI flash on amd64.

Boom chanka

Bug#768000: libvirt-daemon does not create user libvirt-qemu

2014-11-03 Thread Matti Palmström
Furthermore the groups libvirt-qemu, libvirt, and libvirtd aren't
created. And most of the files under /etc/libvirt is missing.

This happens both on a system running systemd or sysvinit.

The user and groups are created if libvirt-daemon-system is installed.

Semi-fix:
Create the user libvirt-qemu.
Create the groups libvirt-qemu, libvirt, and libvirtd.
Add the user libvirt-qemu to the group libvirt-qemu.
