Hi!

I am unfortunately no longer able to take proper care of this package. It
is a very easy package with low maintenance, but could use a little clean
up.

Best regards,

Not sure why it wouldn't, please provide your dmesg output.

I've attached it to this mail.

Hmm, thanks, but it doesn't show why KMS is disabled. Is it disabled
in /etc/modprobe.d/radeon-kms.conf?

It seems to be already enabled there:

mre@jet:~$ cat /etc/modprobe.d/radeon-kms.conf
options radeon modeset=1
mre@jet:~$

If that still doesn't explain it, can you try passing radeon.modeset=1
on the kernel command line and see if that enables it?

That did the trick. With that command line I got KMS. I've attached the
dmesg from that boot. I guess the question now it why it isn't enabled by
/etc/modprobe.d/radeon-kms.conf ...

/etc/modprobe.d/radeon-kms.conf ...

Indeed... The only explanations I can think of:

   * /etc/modprobe.d/radeon-kms.conf says modeset=0 in the initrd.
 'sudo update-initramfs -k $(uname -r) -u' should fix it in this
 case.
   * There's another configuration file on your system that says
 modeset=0.

update-initramfs fixed it. After that I could also re-upgrade the packages
I had put on hold (see earlier mail for the list and versions).

Thank you very much for helping me out on this!

Kind regards,
Meike

Bug#667459: Update

2012-11-09 Thread Meike Reichle

Hi

I am using a standard Debian kernel (linux-image-3.2.0-4-686-pae) but
apparently no KMS, I suppose my graphics card (Mobility Radeon HD 3200)
does not support it.

I also ran into this bug on my last upgrade. I could solve it by manually
downgrading xorg and some related packages using http://snapshot.debian.org/

Here's are the packages and versions that I used:

xserver-xorg-core 1.11.4-1
xserver-xorg-input-evdev2.6.0-3+b1
xserver-xorg-input-synaptics1.5.0-2
xserver-xorg-video-ati 6.14.3-2
xserver-xorg-video-mach64 6.9.0-1+b1
xserver-xorg-video-r128 6.8.0-2
xserver-xorg-video-radeon 6.14.3-2

(xserver-xorg-video-radeon might be enough, if you use a
xorg.conf-snipplet and not the auto detection.)

After downgrading the packages should, for now, be set on hold.

Kind regards,
Meike

Bug#659832: Retitle and change severity after testing

2012-03-03 Thread Meike Reichle
tag 659832 + help wheezy sid

severity 659832 normal

retitle 659832 new version of login causes error messages on execution

thanks

I've just looked over this bug and as far as I can see, the new version of
login only causes sux to print the aforementioned error messages but does
not influence its general functioning. I tried running different programs
in a sux shell and they all seem to work as before. I therefore changed
the severity and title of this bug to reflect this. The messages may be
annoying but they do not make the package in question unusable or mostly
so, or cause data loss, or introduce a security hole allowing access to
the accounts of users who use the package. [0]

If anyone has a test case that does indeed render sux unusable, that is,
it did work with the old sux but not any more with the new one, please let
me know.

I've further tagged the package to reflect that this bug only occurs in
testing and unstable but does not affect stable.

Please notice that I am currently in VAC status (marked as temporarily
absent from the Debian project) so further replies to this bug report may
be delayed (as was this one). Because of this I've also tagged this bug
help. If anyone else knows a solution for this feel free to let me know or
NMU.

Kind regards,
Meike Reichle

Yes. A new panel looks okay. When I use my old, one pixels are missing. I
tried removing and replacing the icons one by one, but somehow got lost in
the configs since there seems to be a mixture of old and new format files
there. (I had my layout converted when you switched the format and
re-added the few icons that didn't make the conversion. I guess that led
to a kind of unhealthy mixture of current and converted legacy configs.)

So now you managed to have a working config, which fits your needs,
 without the bug?

No, I still have the bug. As said I wasn't able to properly dissect the
configs so I just stuck with my old setup.

Ping? Does this means this is fixed?

Sorry for the late answer.

I've tried changing the theme, that does not fix it. I also experimented
an afternoon long with removing selected config files, emptying and
refilling the menu etc. Unfortunately I was not able to isolate a clean,
minimal, and reproducible test case. I guess my xfce setting are simply
too numerous and also migrated over a lot of versions which probably
doesn't make them cleaner.

I was hoping someone else was experiencing similar problems and could add
additional insights. But since this seems to be an isolated problem I
guess the bug can be closed and I'll hope for the next version.

Kind regards,
Meike

Well, I can understand it's still annoying :)

Bug#633657: xfce4-panel: top pixels of panel are not drawn

2011-07-12 Thread Meike Reichle
Package: xfce4-panel
Version: 4.8.5-1
Severity: normal

Since the last upgrade the panel is not drawn correctly. The top few
pixels are not drawn, when I activate a button and remove the mouse again
the top pixels are drawn, when I change the desktop they are gone again.

I hope this screenshot illustrates what I am trying to describe:
http://a10i.net/tmp/xfce4-panel.png

This shows a panel that sits at the top of my screen. I've moved my mouse
over the geany icon (the golden teapot-like thing) first, thus redrawing
those pixels and then on the mousepad icon (little writing pad).

I've tried changing the panel size, but that does not affect this
behaviour.

Bug#629639: cycle: Translation error in legend

2011-06-08 Thread Meike Reichle
Package: cycle
Version: 0.3.1-7
Severity: minor
Tags: l10n

There is a small translation error in the German version of cycle, more
specifically in the colour legend. Where it says ovulation, birth in the
English version, the German version only says Geburt (birth). Because
of this omission the calendar practically tells me I'll have a baby every
month for the foreseeable future, which is somewhat disconcerting news ;)

The correct translation would be Eisprung, Geburt.

No biggie but may be worth fixing in the next version.

Bug#530231: sux: ctrl-z does not work any more

2010-01-17 Thread Meike Reichle
reassign 530231 login 1:4.1.4.2-1
thanks

Hi,

this bug was introduced with Squeeze and is caused by some change in the
login package. The bug does not occur with the lenny version of login
(1:4.1.1-6), but it does with the squeeze version (1:4.1.4.2-1). More
specifically the bug is caused by a change in /bin/su. If I take the
squeeze version of login and replace /bin/su with the one from the lenny
version, the bug does not occur any more.

I thus reassign this bug to the login package.

Regards,
Meike

Bug#473439: debian-policy: Debian Policy inconsistent with Developer's Reference

2008-03-30 Thread Meike Reichle
Package: debian-policy,debian-reference
Version: 3.7.3.0
Severity: normal

Hi!

When doing my NM I noticed an inconsistency between the Debian Policy
and the Developer's Reference concerning the use of the terms section
and category.

The Debian Developer's Reference says in chapter 4.6.1:

The 'main' section of the Debian archive is what makes up the official
Debian GNU/Linux distribution. [...] Note that the term section is
also used to refer to categories which simplify the organization and
browsing of available packages, e.g. admin, net, utils etc.

On the other hand chapter 2.4 of the Debian Policy states:

The packages in the categories main, contrib and non-free are grouped
further into sections to simplify handling.

As you can see the Developer's Reference states the exact opposite, so I
guess only one of them can be right and the other one should be fixed.

Best regards,
Meike

Bug#465782: Created a patch

2008-03-20 Thread Meike Reichle
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-

thanks

Hi Martin,

I created a patch that should fix this bug. I removed the creation of
/var/isns from the source code, added the creation of /var/lib/isns to
debian/dirs, and changes that code accordingly.

HTH,
Meike

PS: I noticed you debian/dirs contains /usr/bin but you don't seem to
actually use that directory, so I guess that could be removed.

Bug#434746: Would be nice to have a merge functionality

2007-07-26 Thread Meike Reichle
Package: kbibtex
Version: 0.1.5-5
Severity: wishlist

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hi,

it would be nice if there was a functionality that allows merging one
bibtex file into another, basically by copying over all new entries and
asking when there are doube IDs which one to keep or whether one should
be renamed. At the moment I use kbibtex to manage my bibtex files but
have to turn to gbib to merge them. It would be nice if kbibtex could do
that, too.

Best,
Meike

Bug#363555: Trying to save a new todo item makes yank crash

2006-04-19 Thread Meike Reichle
Package: yank
Version: 0.2.1-7.2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

When trying to save a new todo item in yank it crashes with the
following error message:

Gdk-ERROR **: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
  serial 7797 error_code 8 request_code 62 minor_code 0

I tried saving different todo items and it seems that as soon as I pick
an end date from the calendar and hit 'save' or 'apply' the program
crashes. The number after 'serial' is a different one every time, the
rest of the error message is the same.

Bug#361952: Please examine Bug#361952

2006-04-12 Thread Meike Reichle
Hi

Frank Küster said/sagte on/am 12.04.2006 07:55:
I guess this must be a partially upgraded system, tex-common is
installed, but not yet configured properly, and tetex-bin (and probably
-base) is still at the old version. tetex-bin_2.0.2-31 means that he is
using testing, but testing has 3.0-* for ages.

This (the partially upgraded system) might be the source of the problem.
I just went through a full upgrade + dist-upgrade that also got me the
new tetex-bin (3.0-15). So, I am sorry, I cannot do any more tests on
the old version.

Anyway, could it be (just guessing here) that this problem was caused by
a missing version dependency? As I see it tex4ht-common only requires
tetex-bin not a particular minimum version. So this might also be a
problem on other systems with an old version of tetex-bin.

Regards,
Meike
