Hello Maintainer,

I have a weird error, which does not only convern bought Video-DVDs and
Audio-CDs (I have more then 100 which do not have CSS) but also self
burned (under Wheeze with xcdroast) Audio-CDs and Data DVD/CD:

This looks lime M$ Windows which can not more read/restore its own
backups which has never worked since Win95...

I file this bug, because it seems, that it is the same as #583949 long
time ago!

However, my Laptop is a Lenovo ThinkPad T400 and the DVD-Burner is a
Hitachi-LG Data Storrage MU10N and the CD I try to access, is a self
burned one (Wheeze with xcdroast). However, the packages

libdvdread4 libdvdcss2 (libdvd-pkg)

are installed. Hmmm, if I remove my 160GByte Stretch HDD and use the
old 500GByte Wheeze one, the CD and all of my DVD/CD are accessible with
the same libs.

Thanks in avance
Michelle

2018-02-06 Thread Michelle Konzack
Package: firefox-esr
Version: 52.5.0esr-1~deb9u1

Hello Maintainer,

when I want to send a mail trough Wwebmail and I have to attach a file
from my smartphone, firefox-esr does not more give the mountpoint free
unless I close firefox entirely.

This behaviour was not present in Firefox under Wheeze which accessed
the filesystem only temporary.

Ahhh, this can be the reason, why it is working now.
I have installed some packages, from which I was thinking it COULD work!

OK, it seems, that the error is, that blueman place its modules in

/usr/lib/python3.5/site-packages

and NOT in

/usr/lib/python3.5/dist-packages

Is this an upstream bug since "site-packages" appear only in the
orig.tar.gz

Bug#888642: Starting blueman fails because /usr/bin/dbus-launch terminated abnormally without any error message

2018-01-29 Thread Michelle Konzack
So, I am on th <https://docs.python.org/3/tutorial/modules.html>
and try to figure out, whats going wrong here.

Python search its modules in "sys.path" which can be modified by an
application and this mean, the modification is wrong, because it can
not find the module "blueman" in with the path
"/usr/lib/python3.5/site-packages/blueman"

>Am 2018-01-29 hackte Michelle Konzack in die Tasten:
> # support running uninstalled
> _dirname = os.path.abspath(os.path.join(os.path.dirname(__file__), ".."))

If I am right, __file__ is /usr/bin/blueman-applet and os.path.dirname
accordenly /usr/bin and since it has the ".." in the command, I assume
this mean one directory back => /usr

> if 'BLUEMAN_SOURCE' in os.environ:
> sys.path = [_dirname, os.path.join(_dirname, 'module', '.libs')] +
> sys.path

So here this line want to join the original sys.path with the previously
gotten _dirname (/usr) with something prefixed

In os.py is written:

8<--
To get a full path (which begins with top) to a file or directory in
dirpath, do os.path.join(dirpath, name).
8<--

In our case, we have

os.path.join(_dirname, 'module', '.libs')

which is then wrong, because os.path.join has only two parameters.

> os.environ["GSETTINGS_SCHEMA_DIR"] = os.path.join(_dirname, "data")

and here it is right.

So, this mean, we have to get this line

sys.path = [_dirname, os.path.join(_dirname, 'module', '.libs')] + sys.path

right, but I do not understand the construnct in the [ ... ]

I do not find the resource on the python website because I do not know,
for what I have to search for.

Maybe I subscribe to a Python Mailinglist... ;-)
It seems, I have to start learning Python now.

I have downloaded the sourced and build a backport (without any error
messages) for Stretch.

Installing was also flawless.

However, if I run my window manager I get this in the log:

8<-

# support running uninstalled
_dirname = os.path.abspath(os.path.join(os.path.dirname(__file__), ".."))
if 'BLUEMAN_SOURCE' in os.environ:
sys.path = [_dirname, os.path.join(_dirname, 'module', '.libs')] +
sys.path
os.environ["GSETTINGS_SCHEMA_DIR"] = os.path.join(_dirname, "data")

from blueman.Functions import create_logger, create_parser, set_proc_title
from blueman.main.Applet import BluemanApplet
---

The question is now, why does it not find its own module?

Where should I look.

I do programming, but not Python even if I understand some things.

2018-01-27 Thread Michelle Konzack
Package: gthumb
Version: 3:3.4.4.1-5
Followup-For: Bug #653865

Hello Maintainer,

I have on my Lenovo ThinkPad T400 (Dualcore 2,27GHz, 4 GByte of memory)
recently Stretch installed and today the first time gthumb called.

Here the output copied from start in XTerm:

[ c 'gthumb' ]--

Question: Since my Compaq laptop broke and I have my comtability and
whatelese on the T400, is it save, to install Packages like
gthumb from Testing? It took me already 4 weeks to get the
basics running on Stretch because systemd does not like my
PostgreSQL/Network Setup (refuses to mount in order).

Bug#855325: Acknowledgement (libgs9: I updated yesterday my Wheeze System and now libgs.so.9 seggfault while printing with cups)

2017-03-03 Thread Michelle Konzack
Forgotten something:

I can print only PDFs which are created with LibreOffice under Debian 7.

I can not print ANY other PDFs I get from the Internet.

So, the error must lay in the libgs9, which probably also used by LO and
Firefox (I use the AddOn "printedit") the error does not apear.

I have removed the entired folder and it works again for mcedit.
This EMail was written with mutt and mcedit.

However, if I switch back to mc internal editor, the problem reapear in
mc, not in mcedit.

The following file was empty (0 Bytes after I had deleted the directory)
and opened in mc internal editor, then I hit enter to make a new-line
and it showed me the dialog "Save - Cancel".

[ ~/.local/share/mc/filepos ]---
width: 1050px;5
   align:border="1" class="img_head"order: 12px
soli4
img_head  40px;;

and when I pressed ENTER of CANCEL or ESC, it past piece by piece the
stuff, which are definitively patts of my CSS file of my web server.

The question is, where does it come from?

I have already deleted the mc files!

Bug#849700: [Pkg-mc-devel] Bug#849700: mcedit does not more work

2016-12-30 Thread Michelle Konzack
Now I have tested it with a new user and it does not have this problem.

However, I have even this problem, if I log into the console without X.

I have removed my ~/.bashrc and ~/.bash_login plus
~/.config/mc and ~/.cache/mc and the error persist.

On the other side, it pase som old copied things into
the open file which came from editing of a CSS file.

So, if I have copied some things in mcedit,
where in $HOME is this informatiuon stored?

There is NO-WAY for me installing Debian 8 because of systemd which does
not work for me.

The problem is not only in xterm, but also on the console.

I use fvwm2 with an unchanged configuration for 2 years now and it was
the update which killed mc

Bug#658819: icewesel does not span new session

2012-02-05 Thread Michelle Konzack
Package: icewasel
Version: 3.5.16-12
Severity: normal

Hello Maintainer,

I use Firefox/Iceweasel since ages with profiles, which worked up to
Lenny and now it is gone.

I have:
~/.firefox/devel
~/.firefox/electronica
~/.firefox/erotic
~/.firefox/multimedia
~/.firefox/onlinestore
~/.firefox/pmcos
~/.firefox/private
~/.firefox/test

and I have the need to open two or three independant iceweasel windows,
speak, I start them with:

set VAR_MOzilla="-geometry +0+76 -height 654 -width 1348 -UILocale de_AT"

DestroyMenu Button_menu_mozilla
AddToMenu
button_menu_mozi...@20x200.side.$[SIDEBAR_BG].$[SIDEBAR_FG].mozilla.xpm@$[SIDEBAR_COLOR]
+ "default%16x16.mozilla.2.xpm" Exec mozilla $[VAR_mozilla] -xrm
"*Page: 0 0 8" -P default
+ "private%16x16.mozilla.2.xpm" Exec mozilla $[VAR_mozilla] -xrm
"*Page: 0 0 6" -P privat

"*Page: 0 0 5" -P devel
+ "multimedia %16x16.mozilla.2.xpm" Exec mozilla $[VAR_mozilla] -xrm
"*Page: 0 0 7" -P multimedia

Currently I am on my Develcomputer an run "devel".

Now if I try to start a second profile like "private" the first instance
intercept the nw profile and screw up the whole instance...

This is definitively a bug and should not be exist

How can I stop this crapy behaviour?

Thanks, Greetings and nice Day/Evening

Yes, but why does the D-I not ask for the tg3_tso.bin? OK, the card is
even working without this Driver! (I do not know, HOW this works, but
there is some basic funktionality and i can connect with 100 Mbit to the

Bug#658037: D-I tries to install Debian on my cellphone instead of loading the firmware

2012-01-30 Thread Michelle Konzack
Package: debian-installer
Severity: important
Tags: squeeze

Hello Maintainers,

I have 146 IBM eServer xSeries 335 and they are working fine with Lenny
and Squeeze, but now I have gotten some new ones and failed

1) D-I does not ask me for the firmware of the integrated Broadcom NICs
-> tg3_tso.bin

2) does not ask me for the firmware of the integrated SCSI-Controller
-> LSI 53c1020

2) If I mount the USB-Stick (cellphone or SD card) manualy, D-I detect
it as an install medium and does not bother installing Debian on it.
WTF?

3) D-I can not mount a fresh bought SD card, or USB Stick, because it
want to enforce a superdisk on /dev/sda instead of mounting the
parition /dev/sda1.

However, the previous owner of the server had FC 8 installed on it and
it worked, so why can D-I not load the modules and firmware?

Normaly this bug should be "grave" or even "critial"...

Note: Don't believe, I throw away 400 Servers of a value
of more the 5 mio Euro even if D-I is sick!

Realy, Debian becomes more and more worse!

It was the best server systems and now it degrade it self.

Thanks, Greetings and nice Day/Evening

Bug#657556: X.org crash all the time unexpected

2012-01-27 Thread Michelle Konzack
OK, now after some testing I have encountered a weird problem:

I have 8 Workstains base on the AsusTek A7V600-X Mainboard with CPUs of
AMD Sempron, Athlon and Geode. All Workstations running with 2/3 GByte
DDR400 memory.

I use mainly the Matrox G45+MDHA16D/OE6 (VGA Dual-Head, AGP) which works
perfectly on all machines runing Lenny.

Now some machines are upgraded to Squeeze and I have encountered tonns
of XTerm bugs. I have several 100 cores laying around inm my ${HOME}.

OK, since mainly xterm aps are closing (xterm crashs) and X restarts
unexpected, I now have have removed the Matrox G45+MDHA16D/OE6 und
inserted an Matrox G45FMDVP32DB (DVI/VGA Dual-Head, PCI) and now X does
not more crash.

Hmm, broken grafikcard?

I am wondering, since I have bought 10 of them original NEW!

Checed the Card in another Workstation (same Mainboard Type, Soundcard)
and it works perfectly without crashing under Lenny and Squeeze.

Can someone of you Guys and Girls explain this?

More weird stuff:

FOr 2 years I had bougth 20 mainboards, 80 1 GByte memory modules, 20
graficcards, 20 2"5 SATA drives and 20 DVD-RW drives. When assembled,
some of the graficcards wont work with Debian Lenny and if I put them
into another Computer it just works...

It is NOT THE FIRST TIME, I have such sick fault which droved my crazy
for more then one week!

Thanks, Greetings and nice Day/Evening

Ehm message cache? I was even not aware that such thing exist...

But AFAIK it is only the header_cache which prevent the right thing.

AFAiK not and it is not doveot but mutt.

Do you poll the mailboxes or do you use imap_idle?

In courier/uw-imap, there is no was for the IMAP server to do anything,
because
1) imap_idle works only, if a new mail arrive and the IMAP server
   inform the MUA immediately
2) polling does not work, because mut has already polled the Mailbox
   and gotten the headers.

So, the only thing I can imagine is, that mutt could implement a
function, which let mutt forget the header_cache and catch the header
from scratch from the active mailfolder.

You can post a wishlist bug for this funktion.

OK, it was along night of work (and alone) and I go sleeping!

 END OF REPLIED MESSAGE

Sinceyou have edited the mbox by hand using sed, Dovecot does not know
about the changes and mutt has already cached the headers.

To solv the problem, delete the appropriated file from your header_cache

It is not a bug but a feature and courier/uwimap have the same behaviour

Bug#600477: xpdf is non-usable on Debian Squeeze/i386

2011-12-26 Thread Michelle Konzack
Package: xpdf
Version: 3.02-12
Followup-For: Bug #600477
Severity: important

Hello Maintainer,

I have setup a new (Debian) Development Workstation where I want to
develop my software and build the Debian packages, but if I start xpdf
and try to open a document, xpdf crash inmmediately.

Recompiling the Lenny version 3.02-1.4+lenny3 for Squeeze works propery.

Note: First I was thinking I have a fault Memory (I have 3x1 GByte) but
running excessive memtest86+ gaved me no result. Now, running
xpdf on 3 other another machine (completely diffrent Hardware)
is the same result. It crash while trying to click "open file".

Thanks, Greetings and nice Day/Evening

Hello Mònica,

I know, but have some problems with my Devel-Workstation and since
Debian has changed the spamfilter rules,I can not more send ANY messages

I send mail through my PUBLIC mailserver and is blocked by the Debian.
It is not funny anymore to maintain packages. I have prepered 7 packages
for now, but not more willing to continue, if Debian continue this anti

Bug#572372: O: wdm -- WINGs Display Manager - an xdm replacement with a WindowMaker look

Hello Axel and *,

I agree wit it too.

Since I use FVWM as my windowmanager there is not much choice here to
keep it light. XDM has hot the functionality I need and KDM/GDM install
tonns of dependencies I will never need.

So,if I search in aptitude for "display-manager" in "squeeze" I get

slim (does not support remote login)

kdm

So, time to get "wdm" back into Debian for "wheeze"

This is not all, because gdm/kdm install very huge useless dependencies,
for which I have no space in th NAND Flash exspecoialy if I work on my
ARM based PanelPC or TabletPC

So, I've been bothered by this now, thanks to you, so I've been looking at
solutions. So far, I have ideas, but nothing implemented. I've also learned
why the extra line breaks exist.

If you look at the HTML of the message sent from an Outlook 2007 client,
you'll notice the paragrphs are wrapped in tags like this:

Lorem ipsum

Notice the extra tags in the middle of your paragraph tags. I
believe those are being handled as standard tags, and thus giving you
the extra line break. If you press Shift+Enter in Outlook 2007, rather than
just for your line breaks, you can avoid this issue.

Of course, that doesn't help those who are sending you the mail. Thus, here
are some ideas for filtering those tags out:

* Use something like fdm(1) to fetch your mail, then it's trivial to
  filter those tags out.
* Parse the HTML with sed(1), removing the tags before sending it to an
  HTML renderer.

Thus, the original message remains in tact. If there is an HTML renderer
that the message can be piped to, that has strict standards compliance, or
can specifically ignore Microsoft Office namespace tags, such as ,
then that would be the prime option, I think. I don't know if such actually
exists though.

Again, all this rests on the assumption that the tags are the
culprit. Anyway, hope that helps a little.

Bug#357256: [xmem] switches view even if no swap is present

Hello Stephen,

can you test the package please?

It can be found here:
<http://devel.debian.tamay-dogan.net/debian/pool/main/x/xmem/>

"apt-get install" is currently not available because I have to reinstall
the mirror and the scripts.

I have installed it on my machine and while running, loaded the machine
with 5 iceweasel instances, consumed memory up to swap, closed the
iceweasels and disabled the SWAP.

It seems to be working now.

I have applied the patch to the Package and have to check the other
three outstanding bugs and if the Maintainer has not more interest in
this Package I will request an RFS for the Upload 1.0b2-15.

I assume you are using this patch and it works properly on SMP machines,
because I have only a i386 and ARM machine without SMP available but it
does not produce any errors here.

It does not seem to be easy, because in todays Kernel there is no
difference any more in storage devices, which mean, nearly anything can
be a disk... a HARDDRIVE or a NETWORKDRIVE, it does not make any
difference for the Kernel!

This mean, I have to mark this Bug# as "wontfix" since it requires a
WHOLE rewrite with a bunch of hardcoded exceptions (maybe not error
free) or make the option "-i" with a parameter, WHICH harddrive should
be monitored.

Even if I do not use it I will check it, and see, what I can do...

The error is very clear, because the Kernel-Interface has completely
changed and the Disk-I/O part has to be rewritten from scratch, which I
like to do, but I do not know, how to get the ACTIVE (On-Line) disks.

I know, it is field #9 from

/proc/diskstats
or
/sys/block/sdX/stats
/sys/block/hdX/stats

but currently I am searching for a possibility to get the first 4 drives
in the system. I have contacted the mailinglist for it.

Can you be more specific please?

Currently I try to solv a bunch of older Bugs in wm* tools.

I use wmmon since 12 years and it is properly working under Lenny,
Squeeze Wheezy and Sid. I have swallowed it in FvwmButtons with:

(2x2, \
 Frame 0, \
 Padding 5 5, \
 center, \
Swallow "wmmon" 'Exec wmmon -s' \
)

and it just works.

Bug#619479: mutt no longer remembers which mboxes have unread mail

You you use "header_cache"?

I have the same problem here since Lenny because if you use header_cache
and enter a directory, "mutt" write immediately the info to the cache
and mark the entired folder as read instead of singel messages.

This is AFAIK a grave bug and if not, it should be configurable, and let
the user chose, whether s/he want to use it per folder or per message.

Unfortunately there is no way to know, which Iceweael was started with
which profile.

Please add an option to include the name of the profile in the Titlebar

${HTML_TITLE} - Iceweasel [${PROFILE}]

and please forward this whishist bug to the Firefox developers if you

Note: Currently I am working me through a bunch of open bugs

2011-03-20 Thread Michelle Konzack
Hi,

OK, compiled for i386 and it works very nice (Lenny/Squeeze), but since
the WindowManager depends on the Class string, can this be changed in
conjunction with the --config setting?

I am not very famlilar with X Programs, but it is defined in common.h.

I am modifying for example "XTerm" to "XTerm-mutt" to get other Titlebar
Icons and other behaviour.

The problem is, if I launch 3 wmmixers with different settings, the WM
can not distinguish between the three ones and plache them which ever
came first.

Example for FVWM:

--[ '~/.fvwm/buttons/wmmixer' ]-
(2x2, \
 Frame 0, \
 Padding 3 3, \
 Swallow "wmmixer_via" "Exec exec wmmixer -w -m /dev/mixer -c ~/.wmmixer_via" \
)
(2x2, \
 Frame 0, \
 Padding 3 3, \
 Swallow "wmmixer_sb1" "Exec exec wmmixer -w -m /dev/mixer1 -c ~/.wmmixer_sb1" \
)
(2x2, \
 Frame 0, \
 Padding 3 3, \
 Swallow "wmmixer_sb2" "Exec exec wmmixer -w -m /dev/mixer2 -c ~/.wmmixer_sb2" \
)

So, the position of the swallowed wmmixer are mixeed randomly
The thing with

Swallow "wmmixer_via"
Swallow "wmmixer_sb1"
Swallow "wmmixer_sb2"

tells the WindowManager which Class/Resource String to use and if it can
not get it, it use the nae of the EXE and thin the WM configuration is
screwed up.

right, and the commandlines I use are

wmmixer --mix-device /dev/mixer
and
wmmixer --mix-device /dev/mixer1
wmmixer --mix-device /dev/mixer2

Not neccesary, because I would not change the current behavoiour and use
the .wmmixerrc normaly.

why not ler wmmixer chech for multiple config files like

1)  ~/.wmmixerrc-${device}
2) ~/.wmmixerrc

where 1) can be in my case

~/.wmmixerrc-mixer1
~/.wmmixerrc-mixer2

and my "mixer" does not need one because it can use the default one.

If wir go for something ike ~/.wmmixerrc-${device} we can change "Class"
and/or "Resource" to something like

WMMixer_${device}
and
wmmixer_${device}

which would be transparent and does not require a rewrite from scratch.

> After read the source, to do that, we need to rewrite the full application.

Urgs! Not neccesary, only some smal adds to the feading of the config
file and changing the Calass/Resource.

Eh no, this would be not in my sense.

What do you think about my idea?

It would not change enything for existing users... but enhance the
funftionality for power users. ;-)

Yes, now it is more importandt because if I startmy FVWM which swallows
3 instances (onbord and two Audigy ZS) of wmmixer I have to check where
the right mixer is

If you can correct this bug it would be a very great service. I am open

I mean this ONLY as a ONE-TIME autoresponder for peoples posting to a
list the first time without being subscribed because most of the Posters
give a F..K on the FAQ and CoC.

But I do not mean Auto-Subscribe.

I do not like to become auto-subscribed with my Business-E-Mail which
send all messages (only Debian would send 1000 messages to my smartphone

Hello Andrei Popescu and Listmasters,

it would be nice, if could implement an autoresponder
for peoles sending messages to lists without being subscribed.

This message should only send one time per year and contain usefull
links based on the mailinglist, the FAQ and the CoC.

I assume you have 1 GByte of memory installed, which is what I currently
have because two 1 GByte DDR400 modules are broken on my system.

Ihave a very huge and heavy FVWM configurration and it consume arround
70 MByte. Running 12 XTerms and 3 instances of mutt using IMAP and 3
instances of IceWeasel using 3 different profiles and OpenWritwe consume
arround 800 MByte of memory.

Note: I use FVWM since 12 years now and it performs perfectly.

> I also noted that fvwm is consumming resources without reasons.

I know, FvwmScript can run crazy if mal coded (the Exit Dialog is one of
the candidates) but I can not believe FVWM consume this memory on your
Computer.

It is the best Window-Manager available!

Please can you provide more infos about your system?

Bug#614411: While taging messages with ~N and ;N mutt useless downloads whole mailfolders including bodys of messages

2011-02-21 Thread Michelle Konzack
Package: mutt
Version: 1.5.20-9+squeeze1
Severity: minor

Hello Maintainer,

while this problem exist since ages (Woody or older) here again:

mutt downlods the mailfolder three times and useless

I am on IMAP and a GSM connection which is definitvely costly and slow.

I can open a mailfolder and mutt download the header and cache it in the
header_cache which is OK, but since some of my foldes have 20 and more
MByte in size it is annoying IF mutt download the WHOLE folder again but
now including the Body.

Also this action can not be stoped with ^C.

Since mutt write the infos to the messages if it leafe the folder, it is
absolutely useless to download the WHOLE folder if you want to tag the
messages with e.g. ~N and then if you hit ;N it download the folder
again including the body.

So in summary mut does:

1) While opening the folder read the header
2) While taging with ~N download the folder again but now with body
3) While marking the messaages read with ;N download the folder again
with body
4) Saving or leafing the folder mutt download the folder again with
body which is absolutel useless, because mutt should write only to
the header, but now it upload the whole message to the IMAP

In sumary, mutt has downloader 3 times the complete mailfoder including
the body which is worse!

The headers of the box I use are arround 320 kByte but the whole folder
including the body was 21 MByte...

mutt has produced more then 62 MByte useless traffic on a GSM connection

The only way to stop mutt of downloading the whole folder is to KILL it.

I am on the fvwm list and have not seen a post from you about this

Bug#609546: possibel bug in sshd: pubkey auth does not more work if ${HOME} is NFS

2011-01-22 Thread Michelle Konzack
I have upgraded the second "Production System" to Squeeze on my Intranet
Server to check, wheter the bug affect squeeze and the test was positive

So again how to test it:

1) You need two computers
a) a Server which use nfs-kernel-server to export /home/
b) a Workstation which mount /home/over NFS

2) create a "user1" on the server
3) create a "user2" on the server

4) transfer the two passwords to the Workstaion and mount /home/
over NFS

5)  now "user2" shuld login on the Workstation and is in his ${HOME}
which is on the Server

6) Yet, "user1" generate the id_dsa.key

7) "user1" should now open a ssh session on the Workstation to the
Server.
NOW A PASSWORD (pam) IS REQUIRED

8) copy "id_dsa.pub" to "user2" as "authorized_keys"

9) now "user1" on the workstation does

   ssh -l user2 server:/home/user2

NO PASSWORD IS REQUIRED

which is correct

10) now "user1" want o log into his account without a password and copy
"id_dsa.pub" to "authorized_keys" in his on ~/.ssh/ directory

NOW A PASSWORD (pam) IS REQUIRED

and pub_key_authentication does not more work.

How can we get back the old behaviour?

The behaviour from Lenny and Squeeze breaks any automated scripts.

It is the default on Lenny any I have gotten this error on a fresh
installation on all of my six newly from Etch migrated intranet servers.

It happen with ALL new users including root.

I am myself was notaware of this problem, because I have a very huge
PRIVATE Syntax file, which mean, the file is in my NFS mounted ${HOME}.

There where some users which told me, that whenever they want to edit a
file, the error message popup.

Sorry, that I have reported this error very late, but I was not aware of
it.

Sorry, the error version is 2:4.6.2~git20080311-4

For some minutes I have upgraded my from Lenny to Squeeze
with version 3:4.7.0.9-1 and the problem is now gone.

It seems, the version 2:4.6.2-2 was a backport from you, du to testing
cause another bug. Was it for 1 1/2 years?

I have renamed my ~/.mc directory and now I have the same error.

Hey, it can not be, that I have to install 1700 empty ~/.mc/cedit/Syntax
files to suppress an error.

Note: I have migrated my customers Computers from Etch to Lenny too do
to the upcoming release of Squeeze.

Bug#609546: possibel bug in sshd: pubkey auth does not more work if ${HOME} is NFS

2011-01-10 Thread Michelle Konzack
Package: openssh-server
Version: 1:5.1p1-5
Severity: important

Hello Maintainers,

my Workstation is running an up-to-date Lenny and last year I have
upgraded my intranet server from Etch to Lenny and now sshd stoped
working with pubkey authentication.

I had asked on mailinglists, and they told me to remove the passowrd,
but this can not be, because the exact same pubkey is on my VServers
arround the world and I can log into WITHOUT A PASSWORD.

Now I have made a test and it seems, the error is in sshd.

If the remote side has only the "authorized_keys" all is working fine,
but if the ~/.ssh/ has "authorized_keys" AND "id_dsa.pub" and the same
contents, pubkey autentication fails and I am forced to use a password.

I have instaledmy bubkey on another user in the intranet server and oh
wonder, I do not need a password.

So, it seems to me like an error.

Or is there a new option to activate the old behaviour?

Thanks, Greetings and nice Day/Evening

for one hout I have upgraded of of my servers from Lenny to Squeeze and
now I get whenever I hit to edit a file the error message, that
~/.mc/cedit/Syntax is missing.

It is nice, that mc recognizer now the private Syntax file, but if it
does not exist, it should be ignored.

This is a VERY annoying bug, because it renders mc unusable since we
need it all the time for editing files (my coworkers do not use private
Syntax files)

Thanks, Greetings and nice Day/Evening

Hello Maintainer,

currently I am using 1.5.20-5~bpo50+1 and on another machines 1.5.18-6
from Lenny and versions from Squeeze.

The error I am reporting is, that if you try to login as

imaps://ab...@mail.example.com/INBOX

the part "abuse@" is entirely ignored. Same happen if you are already
in mutt and try to change the directory using "c" and then type above
ligne.

This is a very old bug and up to now not resolved.

Since I generaly log into my own account "michelle.konzack" automaticaly
from mutt start, I am not able to change to another account on the same
machine

Switchig to e.g. imaps://linux4miche...@mx.freenet.de/INBOX is working.

If now the NFSv4 Server goes down (e.g. shutdown, power failure) and

It hangs and I have to kill it, but there is a death instance of firefox

able to restart Firefox/Iceweasel and have to REBOOT the Workstation.

This is a realy annoying bug and it happen to 3.5.15-1~bpo50+1 too. Also
ANY versions downloaded from original Firefox source.

Note: Seamonkey is working (for now) and does not show this pronblem.

Bug#603803: Mutt hang/crash if another mutt instance change the IMAP status

2010-11-17 Thread Michelle Konzack
Package: mutt
Version: 1.5.20-5~bpo50+1
Severity: minor

Hello Maintainer,

I access my Intranet server (apache, php5, courier, nfsv4) trough IMAP
from three different Workstations and if I am hassardous with two or
three mutt instances in the same IMAP folder, the instance of mutt,
which leafe the folder first, writes the IMAP status and let the other
one or two instances of mutt hang forever. (see attached image)

Mutt can not more recovered and I have to KILL the instance.

The lead to a second (previosly) problem where mutt writed the IMAP "new
mail" status to the header cache and if mutt crash (or be killed) after
restarting all NEW messages are not more shown.

Please solv all two bugs as fast as possibel.

Using another NUA is NO OPTION for me, since other MUA's are NOT
developer friendly.

Bug#600625: Boa should support "; " as an alternative to "?" for indicating CGI get content

Because it leeds to errors and it is NOT standard!

A ';' is a valid charachter and must no be encoded.

So, if I have an URL like

http://foo/cgi/bar.cgi?keys=foo;bar;baz

what are you doing now?

Bug#599659: mutt: When handed a mail file to edit and send, exits if mail file not saved again in editor

This is the same behaviour if you write a mail, Postpone it, then reopen
it and close the editor without editing or re-saveing the message...

"mutt" use the "mtime", so if you open a File/Message, "mutt" detect its
"mtime" and if you do not edit+save it, it think, you want to drop it.

Note: There is an option to change this behaviour, which I have
activated, but currently I do not know the name of the option

Bug#599309: mutt: Reply->Postpone->Recall loses message associations

Right, but you forget one thing: In a Maildir, EACH message must have it
unique identifier, which mean, the IMAP-Server can rename the file
whenever it is neccesary to keep the Maildir consistent.

EVEN "header_cache" can not cope with it.

The IMAP server does not care about "Message-Id:".

I have currently 208 Mailfolder for mailinglists and the "header_cache"
is arround 402 MByte. Adding additional location infos would increase
the "header_cache2 by the factor 3.

And if peopls use mutt + IMAP + $HOME on NFS, reading such header cache
each time you access a mailfolder is absolutely inacceptable.

This additional "location info" would have a heavy performance impact.

I can confirm this too.

The message can not be maked as "Replied", because if you POSTPONE the
message you can even delete the POSTPONED message and it would result in
a wrong "Replied" Flag. The "Replied" Flag is set, IF the message is
sent.

> nor does the

Since I use:

mutt:
  Installiert: 1.5.20-5~bpo50+1
  Kandidat: 1.5.20-5~bpo50+1
  Versions-Tabelle:
 *** 1.5.20-5~bpo50+1 0

100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
 1.5.18-6 0
900 ftp://ftp2.de.debian.org lenny/main Packages

I definitively can NOT confirm this. Since I filter each mailingist in
a seperated INBOX, "theating" message is working perfectly since it
does not use "In-Reply-To:" but "Message-Id:" and "References:" which
are set correctly.

Bug#537874: Is this bug still there?

2010-09-29 Thread Michelle Konzack
[RESEND because I have not included the BTS]

Hello Arne,

Am 2010-09-29 16:19:00, hacktest Du folgendes herunter:
> As this bug is just over its 1st birthday I think it is time to ask if it
> is still there. So - is it still there?

It depends, because now "mutt" show me only message the malloc() message
and tell me that the mailbox was closed and "mutt" DOES NOT MORE CRASH.

If I now use to go into the last mailfolder "mutt" tries
to reconnect and mostly failed. I have to repeat a second
time and now it LOGIN.

Oh wonder, "mutt" has not lost infos about the mailboxes with new mail.

It seems the problem with the lost "new mail" info for the mailfolders
is in the routines which write to the "heade_cache" because it seems,
that the infos about new mails are only available, if I get the
"imap_idle" signal from the IMAP server or while polling the mailfolder.

"mutt" does not save the infos correctly in the header cache.

=> "mutt" write the infos as they will be already seen which
is wrong if I have not accessed the mailfolder before.

Which mean, if I now close "mutt" it does not more know about the NEW
mails and it get ony infos about incoming NEW mails through "imap_idle"
signal from the IMAP server or while polling the mailfolder.

Even does "mutt" not know about NEW mails coming in after closing mutt
and reopen it. So, I can not close mutt after breakfast, go to work and
if I come back at evening, reopen "mutt" an read the new mails.

IT DOES NOT WORK

In another previous mail I have already written about a solution:

1) If "mutt" access a IMAP server, the infos about new mails should
be written to the "header_cache" and flaged as "NEW" if the
mailfolder was not accessed otherwise it is automaticaly flaged
as "OLD".

2) If 1) does not work, and "mutt" is setup with "imap_idle" or
polling the folders, it should ignore at startup the config and
POLL all mailfolders defined with "mailboxes" the get the status
of NEW messages arrived before the actual start.

IF "mutt" is configured to ignore the "OLD" flag which is my
case it shoud set the mailfolder as "with new mail" because
otherwise I would only see this OLD-NEW mails if a new message
arrived in the mailfolder where mutt tell me "I have 1 NEW mail"
but if I change into the mailfolder I see 100 new mails which I
was not aware of it.

This problem is becoming worse, if you have mailfolders which
receive occasionel NEW mails and you have several 100 folders or
like me more then 4800.

NOTE: I have written a small perl program which access the IMAP
server get a list of the mailfolders and then check the
new messages. thePerm script show me the real numbers of
NEW messages in the mailfolders but mutt failed.

So, it is definitively a bug in "mutt" how it handels NEW messages

Thanks, Greetings and nice Day/Evening

Bug#597670: amuleweb search in wrong directories

2010-09-21 Thread Michelle Konzack
Package: amule
Version: 2.2.1-1+lenny2
Severity: normal

Hello Maintainer,

for an unknown reason, the initscript /etc/init.d/amule-daemon refuse to
start and give not a singel error message. So installed my own script
and started "amuled" using:

[ '/etc/init.d/td_amuled' ]-
#!/bin/sh

su - michelle.konzack -c "/usr/bin/amuled -f -c
/VServer_08/CONFIG_amule.X.net/aMule/"

and it just works.

But now, if I connect to <http://192.168.0.208:4711> I can see

1) Download Page
2) Shared
but only the files I have in my download queue, not the
ones (~5600 files) I have added from two directories.
3) Search
4) Servers
5) Kad
6) Stats
It does not use MY setings for the download/Upload speed

OK, now if I click on "log" I see two fiels and in the upper one I get
the error message:

ERROR: Can't open logfile

and then if I click on the "configuration" I see a form without any
setings.

OK, so I loged into the Sever and checked the logfile

[ '/VServer_08/CONFIG_amule.X.net/aMule/logfile' ]--

2010-09-22 02:33:29: Logger.cpp(272): Error: can't open file '//.aMule/logfile'

2010-09-22 02:36:01: Logger.cpp(272): Error: can't open file
'//.aMule/shareddir.dat' (error 2: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden)

So, "amuled" does span "amuleweb" but does not tell it, where the config
directory is... and "amuleweb" has an hardcoded PATH which is not realy
fine if someone has to start "amuled" with the "-c" option.

Please can you forward this bug to upstream?

Oh, this error can be found in Lenny and Squeeze and make the webconfig
non usable. However, any other setings like priority, pausing or resume
are working.

Thanks, Greetings and nice Day/Evening

Bug#594847: courier-imap hangs, if there is a stale courier.lock laying arround

2010-08-29 Thread Michelle Konzack
Package: courier
Version: squeeze
Severity: important

Hello Maintainer,

For arround 2 hours I had a weird problem with mutt which want load the
include file for "muttmailboxes". Because the file contain 416 folders
I have comented out anything and started loading the file to see, where
it hangs.

Arround in the middle of the file I found a mailfolder where in the
/tmp/ subdirectory was a "courier.lock" file laying arround for 02:56...

Removeing this file on the courier servers deblocked the courier and it
continue as there was nothing happen...

So, since I have more then 4000 folders in my /Maildir/ this bug is very
annoying and should be solved as fast as possibel, becuase I know, I am
am not the only one with huge Maildirs.

Courier should detect stale "courier.lock" files laying arround and
remove them.

Bug#594837: Please make ARCHIVEDIR configurable

2010-08-29 Thread Michelle Konzack
Package: courier
Severity: wishlist

Hello Maintainer,

please forward this to the courier-upstream

In the config file /etc/courier/courierd I use

ARCHIVEDIR=/var/lib/courier/archive

where /var/lib/courier is a seperated 300 GByte SAS Disk in 3Com Raid-1.

Unfortnately I get per day more then 2 million messages on this server,
which mean, courier save more then 2 million files per directory...

Even "xargs" can not more handel this!

So I like to see the Option ARCHIVEDIR interpreted as date syntax like

ARCHIVEDIR=/var/lib/courier/archive/%Y-%M-%D_%H

for example, which will solve many problems, because runing a seperated
script to move the files fo archivedirs in this format is wast of
resources because I have to run this script all 5 minutes and it eats
up to 50% CPU resources (Quad Xeon with 4 GByte of memory) while moving
even on the same partition which is twice annoying.

WHY can "mv" not do the same as courier does?

Modifying the FS table to point to another directory instead of hard-
moving files and consuming disk IO. This is WHY ARCHIVEDIR has to be on
the same partition/volume as the courier spool directories.

manualy, which is definitivey not realy funny...

Same problem is with my ~/Maildir_BTS/ which has nearly 2.100 folders,
mean one for each source package...

I get per day arround 4.000 messages and if I am not at home some days

Bug#594086: Working DEBIAN example!

2010-08-23 Thread Michelle Konzack
Package: pam-pgsql
Severity: wishlist

Hello Maintainer and Developers,

I have gotten again some private messages on howto setup "libpam-pgsql"
and "libnss-pgsql" under Debian. But since I have a very particular
setup, I can not help all the time...

Please, can you add a littel HOWTO, which explain the setup Step-by-Step
on a Debian System please. (PAM+NSS)

If someone does not have a very well knowledge of PostgreSQL, he will
never able to set up PAM/NSS on a Debian system, since the PostgreSQL
database refuse any connections.

Note: I get since several years regulary mails asking me for help.

Thanks, Greetings and nice Day/Evening

Bug#592441: [menu] menu items left from removed packages and fail quietly when menu is removed

IF "menu" is removed, you will have an non-usable X-Window-System.

At least here, because there are more then 20 programs including my
Window-Manager which depend on it.

And removing autogenerated menu.hook files would lead to the hell of
errors for some WindowManagers, which mean, removing is NO solution.

THE IMPORTANT QUESTION IS:
How do you have removed "menu" without removing the half workstation?

Some programs which depend on menu:

[ comman 'apt-cache rdepends menu |tr -d ' ' |sort' ]---
apt-file
cdd-common
debconf
doc-linux-html
doc-linux-nonfree-html
fvwm
keytouch-editor

Better you tell the maintainer of "smb4k", that it should depend on
"menu" :-D, because otherwise menu.hook files are not updated accordenly

"menu-xdg" are scripts which convert ".desktop" files to menu files

Why does it not know?

The EXEC command in the Source should execute even a symlink.

I agree with this.

Of course..

However, since dist-upgrades over two versions is not supported by
Debian, you could include a small code into "mc.postinst" which check
for old stuff laying around before it call "update-alternatives"...

So, even Sysadmins have not to care about it.

I have changed the "mc.postinst" file and re-runed "dpkg-reconfigure mc"
but please can you rebuild toe package with this changement, maybe the
buildsystem complain about it.

Or maybe Adam has used it du to an ancien bug in "mc"?

OK, can you try following:

Open the file /var/lib/dpkg/info/mc.prostinst end change any references
from
mcedit-debian
to
mcedit

and then run

dpkg-reconfigure mc

then after this, retry the issue with Midnight Commander and editing
files and report it back.

It seems, that "mcedit-debian" should be removed since it is useless.

Hmmm, I am wondering WHY we have "mcedit-debian", if there is a symlink

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 2 19. Apr 2009  /usr/bin/mcedit -> mc

which works fine without the need for "mcedit-debian".
Even "mcedit-debian" is only calling

mcedit $@

and I am puzzeling why.

Maybe Debian should drop the thing with "mcedit-debian"?

Does quoting depend on the shell used?

In this case you are right. However, here it has never used an external
editor for viewing or editing.

How do you have configred mc?

I have tried it (I use "mc" minutely since I write my E-Mails with it
from mutt) and it does never use ${EDITOR} (set to "mcedit") or "editor"

I realy can not reproduce the problem.

Ehm, if you use "mcedit" as external editor it is your job to quote the
Filename or escape it.

HOW should "mc" know, you want to edit a singel file with spaces or a
bunch of files?

Windows with Outlook available, please go into the preferences and look
for SMTP setings...

Thanks, Greetings and nice Day/Evening
