I file this bug, because it seems, that it is the same as #583949 long time ago! However, my Laptop is a Lenovo ThinkPad T400 and the DVD-Burner is a Hitachi-LG Data Storrage MU10N and the CD I try to access, is a self burned one (Wheeze with xcdroast). However, the packages libdvdread4 libdvdcss2 (libdvd-pkg) are installed. Hmmm, if I remove my 160GByte Stretch HDD and use the old 500GByte Wheeze one, the CD and all of my DVD/CD are accessible with the same libs. Am 2018-02-04 hackte Christopher Schramm in die Tasten: > I think I found the initial problem: /usr/bin/dbus-launch does not > terminate abnormally, it doesn't even start as it's not present. blueman > is missing a dependency on dbus-x11. Ahhh, this can be the reason, why it is working now. I have installed some packages, from which I was thinking it COULD work!
Bug#888642: Starting blueman fails because /usr/bin/dbus-launch terminated abnormally without any error message
OK, it seems, that the error is, that blueman place its modules in /usr/lib/python3.5/site-packages and NOT in /usr/lib/python3.5/dist-packages Is this an upstream bug since "site-packages" appear only in the orig.tar.gz 13899: configure 13943: configure 11092: aclocal.m4 11121: aclocal.m4 11163: aclocal.m4 autom4te.cache 2836: traces.0 2865: traces.0 2907: traces.0 13899: output.1 13943: output.1 13903: output.0 13947: output.0 Thanks in avance -- Michelle KonzackMiila ITSystems @ TDnet GNU/Linux Developer 00372-54541400

Bug#888642: Starting blueman fails because /usr/bin/dbus-launch terminated abnormally without any error message
So, I am on th <https://docs.python.org/3/tutorial/modules.html> and try to figure out, whats going wrong here. Python search its modules in "sys.path" which can be modified by an application and this mean, the modification is wrong, because it can not find the module "blueman" in with the path "/usr/lib/python3.5/site-packages/blueman" >Am 2018-01-29 hackte Michelle Konzack in die Tasten: > # support running uninstalled > _dirname = os.path.abspath(os.path.join(os.path.dirname(__file__), "..")) If I am right, __file__ is /usr/bin/blueman-applet and os.path.dirname accordenly /usr/bin and since it has the ".." in the command, I assume this mean one directory back => /usr > if 'BLUEMAN_SOURCE' in os.environ: > sys.path = [_dirname, os.path.join(_dirname, 'module', '.libs')] + > sys.path So here this line want to join the original sys.path with the previously gotten _dirname (/usr) with something prefixed In os.py is written: 8<-- To get a full path (which begins with top) to a file or directory in dirpath, do os.path.join(dirpath, name). 8<-- In our case, we have os.path.join(_dirname, 'module', '.libs') which is then wrong, because os.path.join has only two parameters. > os.environ["GSETTINGS_SCHEMA_DIR"] = os.path.join(_dirname, "data") and here it is right. So, this mean, we have to get this line sys.path = [_dirname, os.path.join(_dirname, 'module', '.libs')] + sys.path right, but I do not understand the construnct in the [ ... ] I do not find the resource on the python website because I do not know, for what I have to search for. Maybe I subscribe to a Python Mailinglist... ;-) It seems, I have to start learning Python now. Thanks in avance -- Michelle KonzackMiila ITSystems @ TDnet GNU/Linux Developer 00372-54541400

Hallo Christopher, Am 2018-01-29 hackte Christopher Schramm in die Tasten: > You can also get > 2.1~alpha2-1 from experimental. This EMail was written with mutt and mcedit. However, if I switch back to mc internal editor, the problem reapear in mc, not in mcedit. The following file was empty (0 Bytes after I had deleted the directory) and opened in mc internal editor, then I hit enter to make a new-line and it showed me the dialog "Save - Cancel". [ ~/.local/share/mc/filepos ]--- width: 1050px;5 align:border="1" class="img_head"order: 12px soli4 img_head 40px;; and when I pressed ENTER of CANCEL or ESC, it past piece by piece the stuff, which are definitively patts of my CSS file of my web server. Now I have tested it with a new user and it does not have this problem. However, I have even this problem, if I log into the console without X. I have removed my ~/.bashrc and ~/.bash_login plus ~/.config/mc and ~/.cache/mc and the error persist. On the other side, it pase som old copied things into the open file which came from editing of a CSS file. So, if I have copied some things in mcedit, where in $HOME is this informatiuon stored? -- Michelle KonzackITSystems GNU/Linux Developer 0033-6-61925193

Bug#657556: X.org crash all the time unexpected
OK, now after some testing I have encountered a weird problem: I have 8 Workstains base on the AsusTek A7V600-X Mainboard with CPUs of AMD Sempron, Athlon and Geode. All Workstations running with 2/3 GByte DDR400 memory. I use mainly the Matrox G45+MDHA16D/OE6 (VGA Dual-Head, AGP) which works perfectly on all machines runing Lenny. Now some machines are upgraded to Squeeze and I have encountered tonns of XTerm bugs. I have several 100 cores laying around inm my ${HOME}. OK, since mainly xterm aps are closing (xterm crashs) and X restarts unexpected, I now have have removed the Matrox G45+MDHA16D/OE6 und inserted an Matrox G45FMDVP32DB (DVI/VGA Dual-Head, PCI) and now X does not more crash. Hmm, broken grafikcard? I am wondering, since I have bought 10 of them original NEW! Checed the Card in another Workstation (same Mainboard Type, Soundcard) and it works perfectly without crashing under Lenny and Squeeze. Can someone of you Guys and Girls explain this? More weird stuff: FOr 2 years I had bougth 20 mainboards, 80 1 GByte memory modules, 20 graficcards, 20 2"5 SATA drives and 20 DVD-RW drives. When assembled, some of the graficcards wont work with Debian Lenny and if I put them into another Computer it just works... In courier/uw-imap, there is no was for the IMAP server to do anything, because 1) imap_idle works only, if a new mail arrive and the IMAP server inform the MUA immediately 2) polling does not work, because mut has already polled the Mailbox and gotten the headers. So, the only thing I can imagine is, that mutt could implement a function, which let mutt forget the header_cache and catch the header from scratch from the active mailfolder. You can post a wishlist bug for this funktion. So, I've been bothered by this now, thanks to you, so I've been looking at solutions. So far, I have ideas, but nothing implemented. I've also learned why the extra line breaks exist. If you look at the HTML of the message sent from an Outlook 2007 client, you'll notice the paragrphs are wrapped in tags like this: Lorem ipsum Notice the extra tags in the middle of your paragraph tags. I believe those are being handled as standard tags, and thus giving you the extra line break. If you press Shift+Enter in Outlook 2007, rather than just for your line breaks, you can avoid this issue. Of course, that doesn't help those who are sending you the mail. Thus, here are some ideas for filtering those tags out: * Use something like fdm(1) to fetch your mail, then it's trivial to filter those tags out. * Parse the HTML with sed(1), removing the tags before sending it to an HTML renderer. Thus, the original message remains in tact. If there is an HTML renderer that the message can be piped to, that has strict standards compliance, or can specifically ignore Microsoft Office namespace tags, such as , then that would be the prime option, I think. I don't know if such actually exists though. Again, all this rests on the assumption that the tags are the culprit. Anyway, hope that helps a little. -- . o . o . o . . o o . . . o . . . o . o o o . o . o o . . o o o o . o . . o o o o . o o o - End forwarded message - -- Linux-User #280138 with the Linux Counter, http://counter.li.org/ # Debian GNU/Linux Consultant # Michelle KonzackApt. 917 Mobile FR: +33/6/61925193 50, rue de Soultz Mobile DE: +49/177/9351947 67100 Strasbourg Office DE: +49/176/86004575 France signature.pgp Description: Digital signature

Hello Stephen, can you test the package please? It can be found here: <http://devel.debian.tamay-dogan.net/debian/pool/main/x/xmem/> "apt-get install" is currently not available because I have to reinstall the mirror and the scripts. I have installed it on my machine and while running, loaded the machine with 5 iceweasel instances, consumed memory up to swap, closed the iceweasels and disabled the SWAP. I am not very famlilar with X Programs, but it is defined in common.h. I am modifying for example "XTerm" to "XTerm-mutt" to get other Titlebar Icons and other behaviour. The problem is, if I launch 3 wmmixers with different settings, the WM can not distinguish between the three ones and plache them which ever came first. Example for FVWM: --[ '~/.fvwm/buttons/wmmixer' ]- (2x2, \ Frame 0, \ Padding 3 3, \ Swallow "wmmixer_via" "Exec exec wmmixer -w -m /dev/mixer -c ~/.wmmixer_via" \ ) (2x2, \ Frame 0, \ Padding 3 3, \ Swallow "wmmixer_sb1" "Exec exec wmmixer -w -m /dev/mixer1 -c ~/.wmmixer_sb1" \ ) (2x2, \ Frame 0, \ Padding 3 3, \ Swallow "wmmixer_sb2" "Exec exec wmmixer -w -m /dev/mixer2 -c ~/.wmmixer_sb2" \ ) So, the position of the swallowed wmmixer are mixeed randomly The thing with Swallow "wmmixer_via" Swallow "wmmixer_sb1" Swallow "wmmixer_sb2" tells the WindowManager which Class/Resource String to use and if it can not get it, it use the nae of the EXE and thin the WM configuration is screwed up. > I sent the patch to the wmmaker-dev to apply to the original wmmixer > if they want. > > Please, reply me with your oppinion and it the bug should be closed. > Regards. > kix Thanks, Greetings and nice Day/Evening Michelle Konzack -- # Debian GNU/Linux Consultant ## Development of Intranet and Embedded Systems with Debian GNU/Linux itsystems@tdnet France EURL itsystems@tdnet UG (limited liability) Owner Michelle KonzackOwner Michelle Konzack Apt. 917 (homeoffice) 50, rue de Soultz Kinzigstraße 17 67100 Strasbourg/France 77694 Kehl/Germany Tel: +33-6-61925193 mobil Tel: +49-177-9351947 mobil Tel: +33-9-52705884 fix <http://www.itsystems.tamay-dogan.net/> <http://www.flexray4linux.org/> <http://www.debian.tamay-dogan.net/> <http://www.can4linux.org/> Jabber linux4miche...@jabber.ccc.de Linux-User #280138 with the Linux Counter, http://counter.li.org/ signature.pgp Description: Digital signature

Bug#614411: While taging messages with ~N and ;N mutt useless downloads whole mailfolders including bodys of messages
Package: mutt Version: 1.5.20-9+squeeze1 Severity: minor Hello Maintainer, while this problem exist since ages (Woody or older) here again: mutt downlods the mailfolder three times and useless I am on IMAP and a GSM connection which is definitvely costly and slow. I can open a mailfolder and mutt download the header and cache it in the header_cache which is OK, but since some of my foldes have 20 and more MByte in size it is annoying IF mutt download the WHOLE folder again but now including the Body. Also this action can not be stoped with ^C. Since mutt write the infos to the messages if it leafe the folder, it is absolutely useless to download the WHOLE folder if you want to tag the messages with e.g. ~N and then if you hit ;N it download the folder again including the body. So in summary mut does: 1) While opening the folder read the header 2) While taging with ~N download the folder again but now with body 3) While marking the messaages read with ;N download the folder again with body 4) Saving or leafing the folder mutt download the folder again with body which is absolutel useless, because mutt should write only to the header, but now it upload the whole message to the IMAP In sumary, mutt has downloader 3 times the complete mailfoder including the body which is worse! The headers of the box I use are arround 320 kByte but the whole folder including the body was 21 MByte... mutt has produced more then 62 MByte useless traffic on a GSM connection The only way to stop mutt of downloading the whole folder is to KILL it. Bug#609546: possibel bug in sshd: pubkey auth does not more work if ${HOME} is NFS
I have upgraded the second "Production System" to Squeeze on my Intranet Server to check, wheter the bug affect squeeze and the test was positive So again how to test it: 1) You need two computers a) a Server which use nfs-kernel-server to export /home/ b) a Workstation which mount /home/over NFS 2) create a "user1" on the server 3) create a "user2" on the server 4) transfer the two passwords to the Workstaion and mount /home/ over NFS 5) now "user2" shuld login on the Workstation and is in his ${HOME} which is on the Server 6) Yet, "user1" generate the id_dsa.key 7) "user1" should now open a ssh session on the Workstation to the Server. NOW A PASSWORD (pam) IS REQUIRED 8) copy "id_dsa.pub" to "user2" as "authorized_keys" 9) now "user1" on the workstation does ssh -l user2 server:/home/user2 NO PASSWORD IS REQUIRED which is correct 10) now "user1" want o log into his account without a password and copy "id_dsa.pub" to "authorized_keys" in his on ~/.ssh/ directory NOW A PASSWORD (pam) IS REQUIRED and pub_key_authentication does not more work. How can we get back the old behaviour? The behaviour from Lenny and Squeeze breaks any automated scripts. Bug#609546: possibel bug in sshd: pubkey auth does not more work if ${HOME} is NFS
Package: openssh-server Version: 1:5.1p1-5 Severity: important Hello Maintainers, my Workstation is running an up-to-date Lenny and last year I have upgraded my intranet server from Etch to Lenny and now sshd stoped working with pubkey authentication. I had asked on mailinglists, and they told me to remove the passowrd, but this can not be, because the exact same pubkey is on my VServers arround the world and I can log into WITHOUT A PASSWORD. Now I have made a test and it seems, the error is in sshd. If the remote side has only the "authorized_keys" all is working fine, but if the ~/.ssh/ has "authorized_keys" AND "id_dsa.pub" and the same contents, pubkey autentication fails and I am forced to use a password. I have instaledmy bubkey on another user in the intranet server and oh wonder, I do not need a password. So, it seems to me like an error. Or is there a new option to activate the old behaviour? This is the same behaviour if you write a mail, Postpone it, then reopen it and close the editor without editing or re-saveing the message... "mutt" use the "mtime", so if you open a File/Message, "mutt" detect its "mtime" and if you do not edit+save it, it think, you want to drop it. EVEN "header_cache" can not cope with it. > and as long as mutt > would keep track of where it stored which message (ie, Message-ID <-> > mail location), ...and if you move the ORIGINATING message? > this should be within reach - mutt needed to access the > message being replied to and set the "Replied" flag. The IMAP server does not care about "Message-Id:". I have currently 208 Mailfolder for mailinglists and the "header_cache" is arround 402 MByte. Adding additional location infos would increase the "header_cache2 by the factor 3. And if peopls use mutt + IMAP + $HOME on NFS, reading such header cache each time you access a mailfolder is absolutely inacceptable. This additional "location info" would have a heavy performance impact. > Kind regards, > --Toni++ Thanks, Greetings and nice Day/Evening Michelle Konzack -- # Debian GNU/Linux Consultant ## Development of Intranet and Embedded Systems with Debian GNU/Linux itsyst...@tdnet France EURL itsyst...@tdnet UG (limited liability) Owner Michelle KonzackOwner Michelle Konzack Apt. 917 (homeoffice) 50, rue de Soultz Kinzigstraße 17 67100 Strasbourg/France 77694 Kehl/Germany Tel: +33-6-61925193 mobil Tel: +49-177-9351947 mobil Tel: +33-9-52705884 fix <http://www.itsystems.tamay-dogan.net/> <http://www.flexray4linux.org/> <http://www.debian.tamay-dogan.net/> <http://www.can4linux.org/> Jabber linux4miche...@jabber.ccc.de Linux-User #280138 with the Linux Counter, http://counter.li.org/ signature.pgp Description: Digital signature

Bug#537874: Is this bug still there?
[RESEND because I have not included the BTS] Hello Arne, Am 2010-09-29 16:19:00, hacktest Du folgendes herunter: > As this bug is just over its 1st birthday I think it is time to ask if it > is still there. So - is it still there? It depends, because now "mutt" show me only message the malloc() message and tell me that the mailbox was closed and "mutt" DOES NOT MORE CRASH. If I now use to go into the last mailfolder "mutt" tries to reconnect and mostly failed. I have to repeat a second time and now it LOGIN. Oh wonder, "mutt" has not lost infos about the mailboxes with new mail. It seems the problem with the lost "new mail" info for the mailfolders is in the routines which write to the "heade_cache" because it seems, that the infos about new mails are only available, if I get the "imap_idle" signal from the IMAP server or while polling the mailfolder. "mutt" does not save the infos correctly in the header cache. => "mutt" write the infos as they will be already seen which is wrong if I have not accessed the mailfolder before. Which mean, if I now close "mutt" it does not more know about the NEW mails and it get ony infos about incoming NEW mails through "imap_idle" signal from the IMAP server or while polling the mailfolder. Even does "mutt" not know about NEW mails coming in after closing mutt and reopen it. So, I can not close mutt after breakfast, go to work and if I come back at evening, reopen "mutt" an read the new mails. IT DOES NOT WORK In another previous mail I have already written about a solution: 1) If "mutt" access a IMAP server, the infos about new mails should be written to the "header_cache" and flaged as "NEW" if the mailfolder was not accessed otherwise it is automaticaly flaged as "OLD". 2) If 1) does not work, and "mutt" is setup with "imap_idle" or polling the folders, it should ignore at startup the config and POLL all mailfolders defined with "mailboxes" the get the status of NEW messages arrived before the actual start. IF "mutt" is configured to ignore the "OLD" flag which is my case it shoud set the mailfolder as "with new mail" because otherwise I would only see this OLD-NEW mails if a new message arrived in the mailfolder where mutt tell me "I have 1 NEW mail" but if I change into the mailfolder I see 100 new mails which I was not aware of it. This problem is becoming worse, if you have mailfolders which receive occasionel NEW mails and you have several 100 folders or like me more then 4800. NOTE: I have written a small perl program which access the IMAP server get a list of the mailfolders and then check the new messages. thePerm script show me the real numbers of NEW messages in the mailfolders but mutt failed. So, it is definitively a bug in "mutt" how it handels NEW messages Thanks, Greetings and nice Day/Evening Michelle Konzack -- ######### Debian GNU/Linux Consultant ## Development of Intranet and Embedded Systems with Debian GNU/Linux itsyst...@tdnet France EURL itsyst...@tdnet UG (limited liability) Owner Michelle KonzackOwner Michelle Konzack Apt. 917 (homeoffice) 50, rue de Soultz Kinzigstraße 17 67100 Strasbourg/France 77694 Kehl/Germany Tel: +33-6-61925193 mobil Tel: +49-177-9351947 mobil Tel: +33-9-52705884 fix <http://www.itsystems.tamay-dogan.net/> <http://www.flexray4linux.org/> <http://www.debian.tamay-dogan.net/> <http://www.can4linux.org/> Jabber linux4miche...@jabber.ccc.de ICQ#328449886 Linux-User #280138 with the Linux Counter, http://counter.li.org/ signature.pgp Description: Digital signature
Bug#597670: amuleweb search in wrong directories

So installed my own script and started "amuled" using: [ '/etc/init.d/td_amuled' ]- #!/bin/sh su - michelle.konzack -c "/usr/bin/amuled -f -c /VServer_08/CONFIG_amule.X.net/aMule/" and it just works. But now, if I connect to <http://192.168.0.208:4711> I can see 1) Download Page 2) Shared but only the files I have in my download queue, not the ones (~5600 files) I have added from two directories. 3) Search 4) Servers 5) Kad 6) Stats It does not use MY setings for the download/Upload speed OK, now if I click on "log" I see two fiels and in the upper one I get the error message: ERROR: Can't open logfile and then if I click on the "configuration" I see a form without any setings. OK, so I loged into the Sever and checked the logfile [ '/VServer_08/CONFIG_amule.X.net/aMule/logfile' ]-- 2010-09-22 02:33:29: Logger.cpp(272): Error: can't open file '//.aMule/logfile' (error 2: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden) 2010-09-22 02:36:01: CFile.cpp(140): CFile: Error when opening file (//.aMule/preferences.dat): Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden 2010-09-22 02:36:01: CFile.cpp(140): CFile: Error when opening file (//.aMule/preferences.dat): Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden 2010-09-22 02:36:01: Logger.cpp(272): Error: can't open file '//.aMule/shareddir.dat' (error 2: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden) 2010-09-22 02:36:01: CFile.cpp(140): CFile: Error when opening file (//.aMule/preferences.dat): Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden 2010-09-22 02:36:01: CFile.cpp(140): CFile: Error when opening file (//.aMule/preferences.dat): Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden 2010-09-22 02:36:01: Logger.cpp(272): Error: can't open file '//.aMule/shareddir.dat' (error 2: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden) So, "amuled" does span "amuleweb" but does not tell it, where the config directory is... and "amuleweb" has an hardcoded PATH which is not realy fine if someone has to start "amuled" with the "-c" option. Please can you forward this bug to upstream? Oh, this error can be found in Lenny and Squeeze and make the webconfig non usable. Bug#594847: courier-imap hangs, if there is a stale courier.lock laying arround
Package: courier Version: squeeze Severity: important Hello Maintainer, For arround 2 hours I had a weird problem with mutt which want load the include file for "muttmailboxes". Bug#594837: Please make ARCHIVEDIR configurable
Package: courier Severity: wishlist Hello Maintainer, please forward this to the courier-upstream In the config file /etc/courier/courierd I use ARCHIVEDIR=/var/lib/courier/archive where /var/lib/courier is a seperated 300 GByte SAS Disk in 3Com Raid-1. Unfortnately I get per day more then 2 million messages on this server, which mean, courier save more then 2 million files per directory... Even "xargs" can not more handel this! So I like to see the Option ARCHIVEDIR interpreted as date syntax like ARCHIVEDIR=/var/lib/courier/archive/%Y-%M-%D_%H for example, which will solve many problems, because runing a seperated script to move the files fo archivedirs in this format is wast of resources because I have to run this script all 5 minutes and it eats up to 50% CPU resources (Quad Xeon with 4 GByte of memory) while moving even on the same partition which is twice annoying. WHY can "mv" not do the same as courier does? Modifying the FS table to point to another directory instead of hard- moving files and consuming disk IO. This is WHY ARCHIVEDIR has to be on the same partition/volume as the courier spool directories. Package: pam-pgsql Severity: wishlist Hello Maintainer and Developers, I have gotten again some private messages on howto setup "libpam-pgsql" and "libnss-pgsql" under Debian. But since I have a very particular setup, I can not help all the time... Please, can you add a littel HOWTO, which explain the setup Step-by-Step on a Debian System please. (PAM+NSS) If someone does not have a very well knowledge of PostgreSQL, he will never able to set up PAM/NSS on a Debian system, since the PostgreSQL database refuse any connections. Note: I get since several years regulary mails asking me for help. Bug#592441: [menu] menu items left from removed packages and fail quietly when menu is removed

IF "menu" is removed, you will have an non-usable X-Window-System. At least here, because there are more then 20 programs including my Window-Manager which depend on it. And removing autogenerated menu.hook files would lead to the hell of errors for some WindowManagers, which mean, removing is NO solution. Of course.. However, since dist-upgrades over two versions is not supported by Debian, you could include a small code into "mc.postinst" which check for old stuff laying around before it call "update-alternatives"... OK, can you try following: Open the file /var/lib/dpkg/info/mc.prostinst end change any references from mcedit-debian to mcedit and then run dpkg-reconfigure mc then after this, retry the issue with Midnight Commander and editing files and report it back.
