I'm experiencing this bug also, with kernel 2.6.26-2-xen-amd64 in a domU
on XenServer 5.5.0. Kernel traces below.
Would using a lenny backport of 2.6.30 be an appropriate workaround? It
appears to be listed on backports.org.

I just reproduced this with an install of etch, which I upgraded to lenny.

Further to this, /var/log/messages shows the following:
Jul 15 11:00:39 testingiscsi iscsid: Missing or Invalid version from
/sys/module/scsi_transport_iscsi/version. Make sure a up to date
scsi_transport_iscsi module is loaded and a up todate version of iscsid
is running. Exiting...
Experienced the same issue.

I'm noticing the same thing with 5.2.3-7etch4. I've also got trapd
enabled so setting that to TRAPDRUN=no in /etc/defaults/snmpd appears to
be a workaround.
