This bug does not reproduce in version: 4.1.4-3 since the domU creation is
shadowed by another new bug [1].

As pointed out to me by Neil Brown the default DEVICE line generated by the
Debian mdadm package in the
Confirmed issue as reported. There is an upstream patch available to support
the newer msdos parameter as well.

I have followed this bug report only to wind up in a similar predicament.
The Error: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'rfind' was fixed by installing
xen-qemu-dm-4.0.
However the same configuration issue (trying to boot the guest from a CD) with
the 'boot' option exists for me too.
