Hi all After upgrading to the latest version of these packages in testing xorg 1:7.3+10 xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.3.1-1 STR works again (using kernel 2.4.24). Bug#438426: xserver-xorg-video-i810: Suspend to RAM doesn't work
Hi Brice Please reinstall this buggy version and send the whole output of /usr/share/bug/xserver-xorg/script 31 Like promised, please find attached the output after reinstalling version 2:2.1.0-2. The screen remained black and the X server didn't reacted to Ctrl-Alt-Backspace. This time the X process didn't occupy all CPU recources but as soon as I've tried to attach gdb to the process, it did. As an interesting side notice, I've also tested STR while only using the console (in normal and recovery mode). In both cases, the screen also remained black but I could enter commands (like reboot) which were executed. Maybe the problem is a combination of a kernel driver and the X i810 driver. I'm using kernel 2.6.18-4 as 2.6.21 crashes immediately after wakup from STR. How do you know it is in an endless loop? Is the machine frozen? Does it ping? Can you log by ssh and look at what's going on with gdb, strace, top, ... ? The screen turns black and input from keyboard and mouse are ignored. I can login via ssh and top shows me that the X process uses all cpu resources. I could not figure out what brings gcc to say that is it a ulong type. Anyway, it does not seem to be a mysql problem, ulong is nothing that is supposed to be exported by the mysql headers as it's too generic. MySQL seems to use ulong itself though and expects it by the system: /usr/include/mysql/my_config.h /* system headers define ulong */ #define HAVE_ULONG 1 If I change unsigned long to ulong in struct myconn, the error appears then in this line which leads me to the conclusion that ulong is undefined.
