I have two portable computers with Swedish keyboard layout. One is a
Samsung netbook. The other one is an Acer laptop.
Although installed from the same DVD-image and in the same way, the
netbook always prints dead keys immediately. The other one behaves as it

Gedit's find dialog (Ctrl+F) doesn't show when line numbers are shown,
"enable text warping", and "do not split words over two lines".
It shows until shutdown of Gedit, but disappears on restart and then
never reappear.
The functionality is there, but you don't get the feedback.

I have set actions on laptop close to be nothing, both on battery and
AC. Often the computer puts itself into sleep mode and wakes up again
when I open the lid.
This is very annoying since I always run a shutdown script, which
backups up data, and then shutdowns down the computer.
The computer crashes more often on startup (init) when running on
battery. I have no exact statistics, but about one of three boots
running on battery does not start gnome in a correct way.
About one in ten startups running on external power will make boot
ending in an incorrect way.

Power button puts the computer into sleep mode. It is much better to get
a dialog asking what to do. (As in Debian 6.5.)
Closing Lid also puts the computer into sleep mode, even though I have
set it to do nothing. (I run a backup script to shut down. This can't be
done now.)

Trying to move an item up or down also generates errors.

I would believe that the processor's sleep state is not fully optimized.
Fans are always running.
In the specification of battery from the manufacturer it says "up to 6h"
of battery use.
Maximum time I have been able to run is less than 2 hours.

Now and then the sound card is not in configuration. A reboot recognizes
the sound card again. Annoying.
Attaching a log from a boot in which the sound card didn't work.

When you start the system and have to type an encryption password, the
key repeat is too fast and key bounce doesn't exist.
It would be great to set these values so it is easier to type the
correct password.
When using a netbook you can't choose your keyboard and sitting in a bus
