Nix provides atomic upgrades and rollbacks, side-by-side installation of multiple versions of a package, multi-user package management and easy setup of build environments. I personally use it to install software that is not part of Debian or software that I need in a newer version. My packaging efforts can be found here [1]. I am looking for a sponsor. [1] https://github.com/KaiHa/nix-debian/releases Have you made any progress on this? I discovered the package manager today and I think it would be great to have it in Debian. Regarding getting nix included into Debian, no. First this [1] must be solved. But the packaging itself should work, you can build a Debian package yourself by cloning the repository [2] and following the instructions in the README. Thanks for the info Kai 1. I hope the PR finds a way into the upstream source code soon. 2. I dont need a deb use the package myself, installed from source although helpful If I need to distribute with peers.
