Bug#994702: ipfm: Missing working homepage link

2021-09-22 Thread Robert Chéramy

Hi,

as the main author of ipfm, i can give following information:
- there is no homepage for ipfm anymore
- ipfm has not been developed for about 20 years and I do not plan to
change something at this

I can't retain to share my memories...
We developed ipfm in order to get statistics about the Internet Usage of
our student campus which was attached to Renater and The Internet
through the Ecole Centrale Paris. This was a 45 Mbit/s link and every
student had is own, public IP-Address on his PC in his room. We managed
the whole Campus Network and IT within the student assiociation VIA
Centale Reseaux an played with LAN Emulation (ATM), 3com and of course
developed VideoLAN. This was a really great time!

Today, one would use netflow and a netflow collector in order to produce
these stats and much more.

The time may have come to remove ipfm from debian. The decision is by
sam, he is the maintainer of the package. Or is someone still using ipfm
out there? Popcon says 13 votes.

Cheers,

tibob

The package lack homepage information in d/control, and the homepage
link in d/copyright do no longer work.

Where is its current upstream?

Note, the package could use a maintainer upload to refresh its packaging
and acknoledge the last two NMUs.

Bug#982935: Drop-Down Menus are still broken

2021-03-30 Thread Robert Chéramy

Update:

My nginx-configuration had a link to /var/lib/mailman3/web/static.
Changing it to /usr/share/python3-django-postorius/static/ solved the
problem:

    location /mailman3/static {
#    alias /var/lib/mailman3/web/static;
    alias /usr/share/python3-django-postorius/static/;
    }

The /var/lib/mailman3/web/static has an old bootstrap.min.js stored
under /var/lib/mailman3/web/static/postorius/libs/bootstrap/js. This
file seems to belong to nobody:

# dpkg -S /var/lib/mailman3/web/static/postorius/
dpkg-query: no path found matching pattern
/var/lib/mailman3/web/static/postorius/

# dpkg -S /var/lib/mailman3/web/static
mailman3-web: /var/lib/mailman3/web/static

# dpkg -S /usr/share/python3-django-postorius
python3-django-postorius: /usr/share/python3-django-postorius

I suspect the file was installed at the time I ran Debian stable, as
first installed mailman3 under stable and migrated to testing after it.

I installed mailman3-web on a fresh Debian testing, but the alias in
nginx.conf ist still /var/lib/mailman3/web/static. In the fresh install,
the bootstrap.min.js under
/var/lib/mailman3/web/static/postorius/libs/bootstrap/js is now bootstrap 4.

I don't understand why there are two installations in parallel,
shouldn't everything be installed within the Package
python3-django-postorius?

Cheers,

Robert

I reloaded the server, cleared my browser cache, tried another browser,
nothing helped.

I'm using debian testing (up to date), here are the package versions on
the system. libjs-bootstrap (version 3) is needed by
python3-djangorestframework, I can't deinstall it.

Bug#676978: avahi-daemon: Please provide a debconf to disable/enable avahi-daemon

2012-06-10 Thread Robert Chéramy
Package: avahi-daemon
Version: 0.6.31-1
Severity: wishlist

I don't need avahi daemon, it slows down my boot and shutdown (it needs
about 5 seconds for each interface),
and it keeps being installed by dependencies.

Please provide a debconf menu to deactivate avahi daemon.

Better would be to deactivate it by default and provide a debconf menu
to activate it ;-)

Thanks,

Am 10.02.2011 00:33, schrieb Andrew Starr-Bochicchio:

It already does. From line 21 of debian/control:

Depends: ${shlibs:Depends}, ${misc:Depends}, imagination-common (=
${source:Version}), sox

In fact, your own bug report says so:

ii sox14.3.1-1+b1 Swiss army knife of sound

Am I missing something?

Oh this is very embarassing. I used imagination 2.1-1.1 (testing package
until end of freeze 4 days ago), which did not depend upon sox. Upgraded
my dist (independently to this problem), but did not checked the sox
dependency problem anymore.

So, I'll close this bug and please forgive me, I'll check twice next time...

Robert

Bug#591918: digikam: gdb output

Package: digikam
Version: 2:1.2.0-6

I tried to recompile digikam without the thumbnail patch which came with
2:1-2-0-6, but had no success: it also crashes. So the problem does not
seem to be related to this patch.

I have joined the gdb output of a crash to this mail.

The segmentation fault can occur immediately after the start or after a
few seconds/minutes.

I hope it helps!

 Hi,

I've got a Dell inspiron 530n (the ones sold with ubuntu preinstalled).
Some times, not systematicly (perhaps every third power on and at most
reboots), the boot process is blocked 8 to 9 minutes (see attached dmesg
for the point of freeze). The keyboard is freezed (Caps or Num LED won't
 change).

After this random time, the boot process goes on and the system boots up
 normaly.

please try out 2.6.25 from unstable and give feedback on it?
 installs just fine in testing.

Hi,

option nohz=off did not help, I had a freeze as i powered my desktop
on this evening.

dmesg shows as usual :
Clocksource tsc unstable (delta = 37466550 ns)
Time: hpet clocksource has been installed.
(just after switching CPU0 and CPU1 to high resolution mode)

I also tried Kernel 2.6.25-2, which also hat a freeze at boot. Boot
process did not go a lot further after the 10 minutes freeze as it has
problems finding its ramfs (but this is unrelated to the current bug)
and does a kernel panic.

Thanks in advance for your help,

I know that the /dev/ide/ devices are totally broken and I will look at
what's wrong tomorrow, but I have no reason to believe that other
devices are affected. Please try to investigate what's breaking kdm.

I switched my /etc/fstab to the good old /dev/hda* and could boot
without any problem. kdm is not broken in any way by the breakage of
/dev/ide/, sorry for that.

Please check if the package at http://www.bofh.it/~md/debian/ fixes your
problems.

It works for me, /dev/ide/ is OK again with 0.080-2

Tank you very much!
