Bug#1081830: 1081...@bugs.debian.org

Well, to be more precise, it's a missing translation in the french version of the manpage that lead me to think it was an "AND" for all the fields. Friends with the english version pointed me to a part of the manpage that explained the observed behavior. I had, since then, fixed my crontab entry :) I think we can close the BR. Thanks a lot. Regards, Thomas.

Bug#218605: apt: misleading dependency problem message

I concur. I've met this annoying, misleading error message. Today I wanted to check why the wine-development package could not upgrade: The following packages have unmet dependencies: wine-development : Depends: wine64-development (>= 6.18~repack-1) but 6.0+repack-4 is to be installed or wine32-development (>= 6.18~repack-1) E: Broken packages wine-development depends on both wine..-developement in the new 6.18~repack-1 version. Something as "package xxx not found (not yet in the yyy repository)" or "package xxx conflicts with installed package yyy". And actions to take to fix the problem. Aptitude may have the solution but really the apt error message isn't helping at all.

I did as you said. Installed the sid version but the bug is still there. > Otherwise, can you report these issues to upstream? Of course. I just prefer begining with BR in the Debian BTS so that once the bug is fixed upstream it can be quickly followed by a new version of the package (it happened several times that I only reported upstream and had to wait for a long time for the fix to land in sid, not even talking about testing) :) Sometimes DD prefer to report upstream themselves too...

Bug#978550: pulseaudio: Pulseaudio do not detect HDMI output anymore after monitor power cycle
Workaround for now : in a terminal execute `pulseaudio -k -D` and it will rescan and detect the HDMI output.
Bug#978550: pulseaudio: Pulseaudio do not detect HDMI output anymore after monitor power cycle
I forgot to mention it clearly : the HDMI output sink isn't detected anymore _after_ the power has been *set back to ON*, of course. I did not try to have HDMI output while the monitor was off ;)
Bug#960084: Fixed bug ?
Hi. I have the same problem about ff not taking into account the installed langpack each time there is a ff upgrade. I just switched from ff77 to ff78 and the interface switched back to english so I had to manually select and install my language from the preferences page. That's when I saw this "fixed" bug. It doesn't seems fixed in my point of view because when I opened ff it was again in english. Reading the last message in the ticket, I started ff with a new profile and indeed the new profile opened in my language. There are 3 observations that I could make at the moment : 1. first there were 3 profiles : - mine (default) - another (default_release) - the newly created (tests) 2. that behavior (re-installing locales after each upgrade) appeared when I switched from ff-esr to ff 3. it seams that my default profile (holding my configuration and everything I need for day-to-day use) is not linked with the system's langpack, but only the one I install from the preferences. Is there a mean to connect my profile with the system l10n package instead of the one installed from the preferences page ?

I can confirm gnome-keyring is not the culprit. I don't have gnome-keyring packages installed and still I have that behavior on 2 machines using lightdm/xfce : one with autologin to xfce and one without autologin. However I have another machine using lightdm/xfce that does not have this behavior : the autologin is set to kodi. Moreover I also have 2 other machines with sddm/kde that do not display that behavior either. To me it may be a combination lightdm/xfce that trigs the problem. All I need to do is to add entropy by moving the mouse several seconds on the machine with autologin. On the other one, as I don't have a keyboard/mouse attached, I try to log into it through SSH and then log a user... But the SSH service is not listening until a LOT of seconds pass or until I plug a mouse in and move it several seconds. That last behavior does not appear on the other machines since I can do the same thing with them without beeing blocked. Thomas.

Bug#851467: dolphin4: Dolphin fails to displays sshfs mounted files & directories
Package: dolphin4 Version: 4:16.08.3-1 Severity: important Hi. I've been using sshfs a lot to access remote files since a long time. I've been using testing with fluxbox and a very light configuration. Then I switched to KDE. When using a terminal emulator (rxvt, xterm, konsole) I can browse mounted directories just fine. Using SpaceFM works too. However trying to access these directories using dolphin, nothing shows up under the mount point. I suspect something linked to packaging since the Kubuntu installation displays sshfs mounts contents just fine. However there is a hint : some KDE apps cannot list sshfs mounts contents when trying to open a file while some do (eg : filelight). -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 4.8.0-2-686-pae (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages dolphin4 depends on: ii kde-runtime 4:16.08.3-1 ii libc62.24-8 ii libkcmutils4 4:4.14.26-1 ii libkdecore5 4:4.14.26-1 ii libkdeui54:4.14.26-1 ii libkfile44:4.14.26-1 ii libkio5 4:4.14.26-1 ii libknewstuff3-4 4:4.14.26-1 ii libkonq5abi1 4:16.08.3-1 ii libkparts4 4:4.14.26-1 ii libphonon4 4:4.9.0-4 ii libplasma3 4:4.14.26-1 ii libqt4-dbus 4:4.8.7+dfsg-11 ii libqt4-xml 4:4.8.7+dfsg-11 ii libqtcore4 4:4.8.7+dfsg-11 ii libqtgui44:4.8.7+dfsg-11 ii libsolid44:4.14.26-1 ii libstdc++6 6.2.1-5 ii libxrender1 1:0.9.10-1 ii phonon 4:4.9.0-4 dolphin4 recommends no packages. dolphin4 suggests no packages. -- no debconf information

Bug#709477: lxc-start/lxc-debian change keymap in parent container
Package: lxc Version: 0.8.0~rc1-8+deb7u1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, I'm setting up a debian container and upon finishing the container creation (and in addition to other errors already fixed in next packages version as seen on the bts), my system gets its keymap changed. I also tried that with a previously configured container: lxc-start starts the system in the container but also changes my keymap. Even more: loadkeys fr tells me "cannot open file fr"... Restoring the keymap from inside the container fixes the problem. Bug#366507: Workaround not possible
Hi Paul ! I don't think this is a BIOS bug or, if it is, the 2.[24].x kernels used to work with it perfectly, so 2.6 not working is a regression. [...] On ne met pas de capitale : [...] - aux noms de jours et de mois. Exemple : la fête est fixée au mercredi 6 avril ; " More information here : http://tex.loria.fr/english/typographie.html -- Thomas Nemeth - Ingénieur d'Études en Informatique Industrielle Industrial Computing Software Designer BETAtech - 15, rue Apollo, Z.A. de Montredon, 31240, L'Union. 05 34 30 40 00 / 05 34 30 40 09

You will have to wait until libc6 and xpdf make it to testing. Yes :) I hope it will be upgraded soon... | > Anyway, I actually use xpdf 3.00-13 and don't have any problems | > with it. | | Thanks, I have reported this to the bug tracker. Thanks to you ! Bug#259423: xclock does not use locales with strftime
Well... As nobody seems to want to fix that, I did it myself :) It was rather simple enough to be made in a few minutes. Just 2 more lines in the code...
