Hi,
Has any progress been made on this packaging project? I would be
interested in helping package this, as it would assist deployment to a
computer lab for a taught course.
Regards,
Thomas
The following hunk demonstrates the break in API and ABI with upstream:
diff -Nur -x '*.orig' -x '*~' nbtk-1.1.9/nbtk/nbtk-stylable.h

Package: libnbtk-1.2-0
Severity: serious
Patches applied to this package breaks API and ABI compatibility with
upstream sources.
Breaking API compatibility prevents source packages from being compiled
against the same version of the library elsewhere.
Breaking ABI compatibility prevents binary
Hi Elimar,
After realising that this was probably a udev problem (which also caused
my other bug at the time (bug #459464)), I eventually re-installed
Debian and since then I have not re-encountered the problem
I reported in this bug.
Regards,
Thomas

Try to remove this entry, reboot and let udev do the job then ;)
I think I actually added this entry because it wasn't

No, each time I boot I have to re-run dpkg-reconfigure alsa-base
before /dev/snd appears.
Please try
# dpkg-reconfigure linux-sound-base
and choose ALSA
Package: alsa-base
Version: 1.0.15-3
Severity: important
After recently upgrading, the sound devices (e.g. /dev/dsp) do not appear in
/dev after boot. However, they do appear after running
dpkg-reconfigure alsa-base.
