 Hello,

Hmm, OK. Should be plenty but depends on the site/URL you want to
download. It is hard to guess without reproducing the problem with the
URL. http/https? many small files, crashes with a huge file?
I need the or just a URL to reproduce the problem.
Can you reproduce the problem with wget 1.14 or 1.15 (testing/unstable)?

 thx.

Hi Noël,
I tried with 1.15 and everything's fine !
Thanks

 Hello Tovo,

The screenshot says in the line after panic out_of_memory.
For me it looks like your memory+swap is full and then the system
freeze. How much RAM does this machine have and how large is the file
 downloading?

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. You're right about out of memory but the server
has 3GB of RAM and 5GB of swap space.

Bug#732004: wget : lead to a kernel panic

2013-12-12 Thread Tovo Rabemanantsoa
Package: wget
Version: 1.13.4-3
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,
I was trying to use wget for mirroring a website (wget -e robots=off
--mirror --recursive --convert-links -p http://my_url).
When the volume of the data reach around 1.7GB, the server totally hangs
with a backtrace (a kernel problem instead ?)
I retried twice and the problem occurs twice.
I tried the same command on an Arch Linux and a FreeBSD system and no
problem found.
Please find here : http://imageshack.com/i/0yvkp3j a photo of the backtrace
Thanks a lot
