As I understand the terms, it would be a forward proxy (As in I'm using apache to service remote hosts) If you are using apache as a reverse proxy, try putting CacheEnable disk / in your http virtual host(s), but not into your https virtual host(s). Then not a reverse. Or are you using it as forward proxy, and want to avoid caching ftp urls? In this case CacheEnable disk http://; should work. Well, in my setup it's even harder, since I don't have any OptiPlex 320 :-) It'll be difficult for me as well being that I no longer have access to one. I would also suggest that you try with GRUB 2 and report if it has the same problem. GRUB Legacy is deprecated and we're probably going to replace it soon now. If it didn't conflict with grub legacy, I would. I looked at the files in the grub2 package. If the /usr/lib/grub/i386-pc was placed in /usr/lib/grub2/i386-pc, there wouldn't be a conflict. (Actually, looking closer, there's probably no conflict as it is, but the files shouldn't be in the same directory) There are other users of grub that have reported this same problem with the OptiPlex 320 machines. I don't see anyone else in this bug log. Did any of these users contact us or file a bug report? Do a google search for grub optiplex 320. They weren't necessarily debian users or they never reported the problem. Not all users bother to file bug reports, they just find workarounds and forget about it. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#419766: Grub fails to boot kernel on Dell OptiPlex 320 PCs
Package: grub Version: 0.97-27 Severity: important When attempting to boot linux on a Dell OptiPlex 320, I get the text screen where it tells me what it's booting (menu option), the kernel I'm booting, and another line that tells me it's linux-bzimage, setup=0x1400, size=0xd9e98 and hangs. It does not appear that linux actually has booted. I understand this is a common problem for this machine. The bios is 1.1.5 (Latest as of this date) -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.20 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages grub depends on: ii libc62.3.6.ds1-9 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libncurses5 5.5-1 Shared libraries for terminal hand grub recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#415053: Log too verbose when specifically not authoritive.
Package: dhcp3-server Version: 3.0.4-13 Severity: minor I have dhcp3-server setup on a machine to provide addresses to a non-local network. This works just fine. However, since I've not configured it to be authoritive on the local network (there already is an authoritive DHCP server on the network), it complains every time a local client does any dhcp requests on the network. Ex: Mar 15 15:53:46 segfault dhcpd: DHCPINFORM from 172.17.11.216 via eth0: not authoritative for subnet 172.17.0.0 Mar 15 15:53:50 segfault dhcpd: DHCPINFORM from 172.17.11.216 via eth0: not authoritative for subnet 172.17.0.0 Mar 15 15:54:08 segfault dhcpd: DHCPINFORM from 172.17.11.168 via eth0: not authoritative for subnet 172.17.0.0 Mar 15 15:54:12 segfault dhcpd: DHCPINFORM from 172.17.11.168 via eth0: not authoritative for subnet 172.17.0.0 Mar 15 15:54:18 segfault dhcpd: DHCPINFORM from 172.17.11.174 via eth0: not authoritative for subnet 172.17.0.0 I have the following in my conf file: subnet 172.17.0.0 netmask 255.255.0.0 { } I do not want to touch the authoritive DHCP server to handle this since it's production and the network I'm doing this for is not. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.14 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
