Bug#822683: maildrop: removal of courier-maildrop changed the behaviour
Hey fellas, It's been more than 2 years without resolution. I'm sure a lot of mail server maintainers are using local package. Resolve this bug seems trival to me, maybe just re-add the courier-maildrop package? Cheers, Difei
Bug#822683: maildrop: removal of courier-maildrop changed the behaviour
Package: maildrop Version: 2.8.3-0.1 Severity: important Greetings, (I filed a bug to courier source previously but I believe it belongs to here). The removal of the courier-maildrop package breaks the courier MTA utilizing the virtual accounts tools. The courier version of maildrop will import the environment variables: HOME, SHELL, LOGNAME and MAILDIRQUOTA while the standalone version won't. This behaviour makes the maildrop can never deliver to the $HOME of the virtual account, rather, it will deliver to the $HOME to the underlying account. This is indeed a startx issue, since usually the display manager (lightdm, gdm) takes care of registering a logind session. IIRC if you want to use startx, you need to make sure pam_systemd is enabled for the console login and you need to teach startx to inherit the tty from the console login, i.e. if you logged in on tty1, X needs to start on tty1 (and not on tty7, which it usually does). See [0]. There this issue was re-assigned to xinit. I've CCed the X maintainers for their input. Are you ok if we re-assign this bug to xinit? Sure, thank you. I don't think there has been much work done on it? Hi, Sorry for the duplicate. I haven't tested it by myself, but I heard that if the feature is enabled you can set the gnome-terminal translucent from the menu (Edit - Current Profile, same as beryl). Since I am only interested in this composite feature, so I think it could be useful for those people who likes translucent for the terminal window but not the other effects. thanks alot!
