Bug#1049915: mate-terminal: background is non-transparent, settings are useless there

2023-08-17 Thread an0t...@int.pl
HiSorry about that, it's in fact more like support question. What I applied was
installinggnome-terminal, and from that moment MATE-terminal looks perfect.

  Dear Maintainer,

I wasn't able to see through the terminal on this distribution.
I think there are conflicting packages in Live image Bookworm
gnome/mate, but dunno much really. Several installs
from that media gives same result, I'm using 2014 Macbook if that's

  relevant. Thanks for reading.

I got really read from your bug report what the underlying problem is.

Is there something wrong with your background image? Or is your MATE
Terminal session's background (are you really using MATE terminal and

not some other terminal emulator?) not transparent, so you can't see
 the background image through it.

Note, that in MATE terminal in Debian, a transparent background is not

the default setting. Please play with the terminal's settings and let

 me know if things improve.

I will close this as a bug report now as I have the impression that
you are rather asking a support question. Please use the debian-user
mailing list for this in the future.

Oh I didn't mention, i played with settings and dconf-editor even, but no
effect. Justinstallation of gnome-terminal made it work. Temat: Re:
