Bug#956269: RFS: simhash/0.0.20161225-2 [RC] -- generate similarity hashes to find nearly duplicate files

2020-04-09 Thread laokz
Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: important

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "simhash":

 * Package name: simhash
   Version : 0.0.20161225-2
   Upstream Author : Thomas Koch
 * URL : http://wiki.cs.pdx.edu/forge/simhash.html
 * License : BSD-3-clause
 * Vcs : https://salsa.debian.org/debian/simhash
   Section : utils

It builds those binary packages:

  simhash - generate similarity hashes to find nearly duplicate files

To access further information about this package, please visit the following
URL:

  https://salsa.debian.org/debian/simhash

Changes since the last upload and all passed autopkgtest-virt-null locally:

  * Fix autopkgtest issue. Closes: #955318
1. Omit prefix binary path in test.sh.
2. Comment out one source in debian/watch for uscan to work.
  * Check and update to Debian Policy 4.5.0.

Regards,
laokz

Congratulations to Buster release! Now it's time for my trip in Debian

Bug#929914: devscripts: 'bts bugs' has race condition with 'firefox'

2019-06-02 Thread laokz
Package: devscripts
Version: 2.19.5
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

My box sensible-browser is firefox. When firefox already running, command
'bts bugs 652727' failed as firefox displaying 'page not
found'(file:///tmp/btsXXX.html), and file /tmp/btsXXX.html not exist indeed.

I tried:
* When firefox not already running, it worked fine.
* Modify bts by adding 'sleep(1)' before the end of function runbrowser,
it worked all fine.
* Set sensible-browser to 'firefox --browser', it worked but not good.
* Set sensible-browser to chromium, it worked all fine.

With Debian-devel IRC help, I am sure that 'bts bugs' has race condition
with running firefox.

Ah yes. I forgot that. Surely I'll keep this bug open and wait Buster
released.

Upstream repo has no release nor tags but 2 branches, one is 'master',
another is 'properly-unsigned-incompatible' which is more fresh. In order to
watch them all, I added two lines in watch file:

opts="mode=git, pretty=0.0.%cd" https://github.com/BartMassey/simhash
heads/properly-unsigned-incompatible
opts="mode=git, pretty=0.0.%cd" https://github.com/BartMassey/simhash
heads/master

>From uscan manpage and IRC help, it seems that above method not well
supported. By testing though, that could be useful: when 'properly-unsigned-
incompatible' update it gives me a new right tarball, when 'master' update
it can tell me there is an update. But uscan output looks a bit confused. I
prefer this than just watch a specific branch. (I don't know if this is
useful to CI/QA robot)

Bug#929816: RFS: simhash/0.0.20161225-1 [ITA] -- generate similarity hashes to find nearly duplicate files

2019-05-31 Thread laokz
Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: normal

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my first package "simhash".

* Package name: simhash
  Version : 0.0.20161225-1
  Upstream Author : Bart Massey
* URL : http://wiki.cs.pdx.edu/forge/simhash.html
* License : BSD-3-clause
  Section : utils

It builds those binary packages:

  simhash - generate similarity hashes to find nearly duplicate files

To access further information about this package, please visit the following
URL:

  https://mentors.debian.net/package/simhash

Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

  dget -x
https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/s/simhash/simhash_0.0.20161225-1.dsc

More information about simhash can be obtained from
http://wiki.cs.pdx.edu/forge/simhash.html.

Changes since the last upload:

 * New maintainer. Closes: #652727
 * Upgraded d/* according to Debian Policy 4.3.0.3.
   Priority -> optional, Standards-Version -> 4.3.0, debhelper >= 12,
   update Vcs-* fields, add simple testsuite and watch file,
   remove redundant d/{clean,dirs,lintian-overrides}.
 * Upstream cleaned up buffer signedness warned by gcc. (Git commit fa34436)

After packaging, I checked lintian, debdiff .dsc|.deb results, tried
install/remove/run, and https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/simhash. More
explanations:

 * d/dirs removed: Its content is 'usr/bin' which belongs to FHS.
 * d/simhash.linlian-overrides removed: It contained "no-upstream-
changelog", which is nonexisted in current lintian version.
 * d/{clean,rules,test/*}: Based on source 'test.sh', the testsuite can
confirm the build procedure. d/clean is no needed also.
 * d/{watch,source/lintian-overrides}: New version adds a watch file. It is
not very well but can do work.

Another request. I updated Vcs-* fields, but need you help to upload to
salsa.debian.org/debian/.

Regards,
laokz

2019-05-06 Thread laokz
Hi,

I'd like to adopt this package if Thomas Koch isn't
interested in it yet.

But it may take a little time for me to dive into this work because I'm
a newbie of Debian Maintainerand.

laokz
