Bug#375054: thunar: does not honour group privileges

2006-06-22 Thread Georgi Georgiev
Package: thunar
Version: 0.3.0beta1-3
Severity: normal

I have a user which is member of the users group. Using mv and rm
commands this user cat move or delete files in directories with rwx access
for the group users. However the same user is not able to cut, delete or
rename the same files in the same directories using thunar.

Also: when checking the permissions of a file in thunar (right-click on the
file, select properties, select permissions button), the group is sometimes
not displayed.

For example: the groups users, staff or src are never
displayed, while root or other groups (which has corresponding users) are
always displayed.

This bug has already been reported upstream, see
http://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1838.

It looks like it will be fixed for beta 2.

Thanks,

James
