Seeing popcon stats on xbattr-acpi (60 _install_) I think you can kick
out xbattbar-acpi, which anyway never been in a stable distro.

It may come back when it has switched from this lib to a real one.

Cheers,

Hi,

it has been requested to remove libconfig from the archive.
However, there is one (remaining) reverse dependency: xbattbar-acpi
Either someone needs to adopt libconfig or xbattbar-acpi needs to go as
well.

Kind regards

I offer to help with porting xbattbar-acpi to hyperrealm's libconfig or
other suitable version.
Either that, or maybe bundling abz's libconfig for this particular
package could be attempted. I can help with that, too.

Too bad this was uploaded recently: Until july 2007 nobody depended on
abz's libconfig... I certainly did check rdepends back then when Julien
Danjou and I began commenting on replacing libconfig0.

FYI, hyperrealm's libconfig as packaged by me generates the libconfig6
binary package. We could therefore keep abz's libconfig binary packages
for a while to ease transition.

AFAICS, Abraham vd Merwe is MIA. He is both upstream and packager of
libconfig, and has not updated this lib since 2003

ABZ's libconfig is, as I said, dead upstream too.

The best solution for now is IMHO to bundle it with xbattbar-acpi, then
send the corresponding patches upstream for adoption.
Any other solution is welcome, of course.

Of course, it is ultimately ftpmasters' call whether to remove
libconfig0 or not.
(thank you for your work maintaining the Archive, by the way :-)

Best regards,

J.L.
