I've the same problem with Faience-Ocre or Zukini GTK themes. That leaves me with basically not being able to reproduce the grave parts of the issue at all. Should this bug be downgraded? Yep, it's the theme setting it back to Adwaita and things work again... it seems this (setting it back) is however only possible with the downgraded packages... After upgradin to 3.8 I tried Clearloks-Phenix again... and immediately all open GNOME programs crashed... even using gsettings set on the console didn't work..
