I tried but it's only little help. It can associate exactly once in the beginning. Further attempts to change associate to another AP or SSID bring the same error again. At least the weird communication problem with nm-applet does not come anymore, that part seems to work ok now. Regards, Eduard. signature.asc Description: PGP signature

If so, it probably would make sense to take this upstream. I can select hotspots with nmcli now and it seems to be ok so far. However, now nm-applet does not work anymore. I tried to investigate strace output and couldn't see the reason. It simply shuts down and exits shortly after some dbus communication. I tried to trace that communication but the results are inconclusive (at least IMHO): method call time=1474147396.626442 sender=:1.32 -> destination=org.freedesktop.DBus serial=1 path=/org/freedesktop/DBus; interface=org.freedesktop.DBus; member=Hello method return time=1474147396.626495 sender=org.freedesktop.DBus -> destination=:1.32 serial=1 reply_serial=1 string ":1.32" signal time=1474147396.626524 sender=org.freedesktop.DBus -> destination=(null destination) serial=34 path=/org/freedesktop/DBus; interface=org.freedesktop.DBus; member=NameOwnerChanged string ":1.32" string "" string ":1.32" signal time=1474147396.626561 sender=org.freedesktop.DBus -> destination=:1.32 serial=2 path=/org/freedesktop/DBus; interface=org.freedesktop.DBus; member=NameAcquired string ":1.32" method call time=1474147396.628220 sender=:1.32 -> destination=org.freedesktop.DBus serial=2 path=/org/freedesktop/DBus; interface=org.freedesktop.DBus; member=RequestName string "org.freedesktop.network-manager-applet" uint32 4 method return time=1474147396.628298 sender=org.freedesktop.DBus -> destination=:1.32 serial=3 reply_serial=2 uint32 3 method call time=1474147396.629530 sender=:1.32 -> destination=org.freedesktop.DBus serial=3 path=/org/freedesktop/DBus; interface=org.freedesktop.DBus; member=AddMatch string "type='signal',sender='org.freedesktop.network-manager-applet',interface='org.gtk.Actions',member='Changed',path='/org/freedesktop/network_manager_applet'" method return time=1474147396.629586 sender=org.freedesktop.DBus -> destination=:1.32 serial=4 reply_serial=3 method call time=1474147396.630210 sender=:1.32 -> destination=org.freedesktop.network-manager-applet serial=4 path=/org/freedesktop/network_manager_applet; interface=org.gtk.Actions; member=DescribeAll method return time=1474147396.630559 sender=:1.5 -> destination=:1.32 serial=85 reply_serial=4 array [ ] method call time=1474147396.631686 sender=:1.32 -> destination=org.freedesktop.network-manager-applet serial=5 path=/org/freedesktop/network_manager_applet; interface=org.gtk.Application; member=Activate array [ dict entry( string "cwd" variant array of bytes "/tmp" + \0 ) ] signal time=1474147396.641525 sender=org.freedesktop.DBus -> destination=:1.32 serial=5 path=/org/freedesktop/DBus; interface=org.freedesktop.DBus; member=NameLost string ":1.32" signal time=1474147396.641597 sender=org.freedesktop.DBus -> destination=(null destination) serial=35 path=/org/freedesktop/DBus; interface=org.freedesktop.DBus; member=NameOwnerChanged string ":1.32" string ":1.32" string "" Regards, Eduard. signature.asc Description: PGP signature

Control: owner -1 bl...@unix-ag.uni-kl.de [Please always CC the maintainer of the package you are going to reassign the package to. Otherwise she/he get's a contextless control message which is highly annoying] Could you add [device] wifi.scan-rand-mac-address=no to your NetworkManager.conf and see if that changes anything.
