I don't know much about the cdimage mirroring process. I don't think
ftpsync is well suited for that.

Also, the backports tree is obsolete for a few years now (the service is
part of the main debian tree since wheezy), and non-US is obsolete for
well over a decade. You might want to retire these mirrors.

I got rid of the backports and nonUS mirrors that were still running for
"historical" reasons...

(Furthermore, we don't recommend security mirrors being used, and thus
don't think security should be mirrored, but that's your call.)

I've kept this one as all our servers are referencing it, but we'll keep
in mind this might not be optimal.

How often does your sync process run for the main archive? We recommend
4 times a day to match the update frequency of the debian archive. If
you want to match that frequency, options include:
 - cron this, picking a time when you think your upstream would usually
be done with their mirrorrun, or

I cron'ed the mirrors to every 6 hours. That should do the job.

Thanks again.

Arnaud

 - use ftpsync-cron (in the ftpsync released a few days ago), which is a
script that should be run out of cron every 30-60 minutes and which
checks the upstream's tracefile for whether a mirror run happened and
if it did, runs one locally
 - set up ssh triggers with your upstream.

Cheers,

Hello Peter,

All our debian mirrors (main, cdroms, security, backports and non-US)
are now using ftpsync and should be up to date.

Thanks for notifying us.

Thanks for contacting us about this problem. I'm not directly involved in
the maintenance of the mirror anymore, but I'll forward to the right person.

We have a contact adress for that purpose, can you change the contact name
to mirr...@univ-nantes.fr , please ?

I have updated our record accordingly.

Arnaud will contact you as soon as time he can correct this.

Thanks,
aloha

Hi,

Hi Peter,

I was checking some things in the Debian mirror universe and noticed
a problem with your mirror:

Status:https://mirror-master.debian.org/status/mirror-info/ftp.univ-nantes.fr.html
Thanks for contacting us about this problem. I'm not directly involved
in the maintenance of the mirror anymore, but I'll forward to the right

name to mirr...@univ-nantes.fr , please ?

o The trace file at
   http://ftp.univ-nantes.fr/debian/project/trace/vacuum.d101.univ-nantes.fr
   does not contain much information.

Please use our ftpsync script to mirror Debian.

Ok, we will correct this.

It should produce better trace files, and do the mirroring in a way that
ensures the mirror is in a consistent state even during updates.

   http://ftp.debian.org/debian/project/ftpsync/ftpsync-current.tar.gz

o Also, there is a mismatch between your tracefile name in
   http://XXX/debian/project/trace/ and your site-name.
   vacuum.d101.univ-nantes.fr vs.ftp.univ-nantes.fr.

Well in fact, mirroring and serving is not done by the same server, but
we can probably correct this.

Can you please have the tracefile name be the same as the site name?
I think you can accomplish this by setting MIRRORNAME= in
   ftpsync.conf.

Ok,
Arnaud will contact you as soon as time he can correct this.
Cheers,
