Given that this doesn't seem to be as simple as just including the patch I'm afraid that I won't find much time for it myself either. :-/ If anyone manages to get clipit working on Debian/buster, please let us know so we could upload a fixed package to buster. Andrej, maybe it's worth filing a RFH or maybe even a removal request so we don't end up with clipit in an upcoming Debian release and clarify its state more prominently? I’m thinking of uploading a dummy package or a package with autostart off with a dependency on Diodon and a NEWS item that clipit is no longer supported. -- Cheers, Andrej

I’m afraid just that one patch won’t help and the upstream source needs to be reverted to what was shipped as 1.4.2-1.2. I gave up on making this code work, and I don’t understand why it doesn’t properly (on my machine, for example, it very unreliably captures the clipboard contents). I have switched to Diodon myself, which also supports holding images. Given this, and the fact the upstream has disappeared a year ago, I hope you understand why I’m not very motivated to do any work to get this fixed in stable. Mika, please feel free to push a fix into buster if other than the hotkeys clipit works for you. -- Cheers, Andrej

Given that there's a patch available, is there any chance that might we get a fixed clipit package in buster through a point-release, Andrej? regards -mika- signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Downgrading to oldstable version 1.4.2-1.2 makes hotkeys work again. I've put this package on hold in my system, so it doesn't get automatically updated. It gets annoying having to always downgrade this after updates. Cheers, dave
