Dear Adam,

You are right. It seems the issue lies with leafpad and not reportbug.

 leafpad
Gtk-Message: 03:37:32.665: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module"

FWIW, the following is the output of what you asked -

 dpkg -l | grep canberra
ii libcanberra-gtk3-0:amd64 0.30-6
amd64GTK+ 3.0 helper for playing widget event sounds
with libcanberra
ii libcanberra-gtk3-module:amd64 0.30-6
amd64translates GTK3 widgets signals to event sounds
ii libcanberra0:amd640.30-6
amd64simple abstract interface for playing event
sounds

Hope the issue can be moved to leafpad or whereever it is more appropriate.

Thank you for followint-up so quickly.

It's really unlikely that this has anything to do with reportbug at
all. I'd imagine you get the same message if you run leafpad from a
terminal - or basically any Gtk-using application, in fact.

A few minutes searching suggests that this is due to partial removal of
the canberra libraries. Please "dpkg -l | grep canberra" and provide
the result.

Bug#910537: reportbug: using GUI editor in reportbug seems to need canberra-gtk-module but it isn't in suggests or anywhere

2018-10-07 Thread shirish शिरीष
Package: reportbug
Version: 7.5.0
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,
Whenever I use leafpad to use reportbug I get the following -

Please select tags: (one at a time) [none]
Gathering additional data, this may take a while...
Spawning leafpad...
Gtk-Message: 01:27:29.888: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module"

I guess this needs/needed libcanberra-gtk-module but for some reason
isn't in suggests ? Maybe using leafpad as an editor is an oddity ? I
dunno whether the severity should be in normal or a wishlist.
