Yeah, I know.

I am waiting for glibc allowing 64bit time_t, which is supposedly
"coming soon".

Bug#1011259: pdns shouldn't be built on 32-bit architectures

2022-05-18 Thread Sergio Durigan Junior
Source: pdns
Version: 4.6.2-1
Severity: important

Hello,

I'm slowly working towards bringing OpenLDAP 2.6.x to Debian
experimental, and pdns is one of its reverse dependencies. In the
process of rebuilding it, I noticed that it FTBFS on armhf, armel, i386
and mipsel:

--8<---cut here---start->8---
checking size of time_t... 4
configure: error: size of time_t is 4, which is not large enough to fix the
y2k38 bug
--8<---cut here---end--->8---

This is done on purpose by upstream. I also noticed that Fedora
disables the build of pdns on i386 and armhf. I strongly believe we
should do the same in Debian. If you take a look at the current build
logs, you'll notice that the package is already FTBFSing on those
architectures.

Cheers,
