Source: opus
Version: 1.3.1-0.1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I intend to salvage the package "opus", for the following reasons:

- no visible packaging activity for 1249 days
  - the last upload by the current maintainer was on 2018-12-23
  - there has been an NMU upload on 2020-09-26 for the new upstream
release 1.3.1 (released in spring 2019) [#934809], that has gone
    unacknowledged so far.

I'm doing this ITS in lieu with my other ITSs for opus-tools, opusfile
and libogg, as i think they belong together.
(Otherwise I would not file an ITS for this specific package, as it is
in definitely better shape than the other three).

I'm happy with co-maintaining the package (although my stance at
maintenance is definitely more aggressive with regard to updating to the
latest and greatest source format, dh-compat and the like).
I would more than welcome maintenance of the package under the
multimedia-team umbrella.

it would be great to hear something from the current maintainer of
"opus".

cheers
