Bug#1012145: bettercap: It looks like the advertised Bluetooth LE function missing

2022-07-28 Thread Samuel Henrique
Hello Tino,

Thanks for reporting this.

I happen to know that the gps functionality had to be disabled due to
a licensing issue (which has been solved now):
https://github.com/bettercap/bettercap/issues/938

But I don't remember what was the issue with the Bluetooth feature, so
I'd like to do some investigation (either myself or someone else)
before removing that from the description, since it might be possible
to enable it.

If we end up too close to the new stable release without this, then we
shall remove it from the description.

So just to be clear, the gps functionality should appear at some point
in the near future, since the licensing issue has been addressed, and
the bluetooth one is TODO to figure out why it's disabled.

Thanks,

Bug#1012145: bettercap: It looks like the advertised Bluetooth LE function missing

2022-05-30 Thread Tino Mettler
Package: bettercap
Version: 2.32.0-1+b2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

the package description mentions Bluetooth LE features multiple times.

However, the BLE function seems to be missing.

In debian/rules, I found this:

rm -v _build/src/github.com/bettercap/bettercap/network/ble.go
rm -v _build/src/github.com/bettercap/bettercap/network/ble_device.go
rm -rv _build/src/github.com/bettercap/bettercap/modules/ble
rm -rv _build/src/github.com/bettercap/bettercap/modules/gps
rm -v
_build/src/github.com/bettercap/bettercap/modules/events_stream/events_view_ble.go

So I guess the package maintainer intentially removed the BLE functions.

It would be nice if is removed from the package description, too, to not
confuse users.

Regards,
Tino
