Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
This occurred on a fresh bookworm installation after upgrading the kernel from
6.1.0-9-amd64 to 6.1.0-10-amd64. Another user reported the same issue here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/debian/comments/14s8nda/kernel_update_broke_my_debian_stable_61010/.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
I updated the system via Gnome Software and rebooted as suggested.

   * What was the outcome of this action?
The system booted normally to Gnome login screen. Then, after pressing enter, a
horizontal flicker came up like this: https://imgbb.com/NtgZN7v (from the above
post). The password entry dialog is not shown. By the way, I think the OP from
reddit uses a HP notebook like me.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
I expected to see the standard password login prompt of Gnome to enter my
password.

All works well when booting kernel 6.1.0-9-amd64.

Can I provide something additional that helps?
