Thanks. This is due to a ABI break in suitesparse. We’re currently
discussing the best fix with upstream.

Bug#1061123: suitesparse breaks octave autopkgtest: it hangs

Dear maintainer(s),

With a recent upload of suitesparse the autopkgtest of octave fails in
testing when that autopkgtest is run with the binary packages of
suitesparse from unstable. It passes when run with only packages from
testing. In tabular form:

   passfail
suitesparsefrom testing1:7.5.1+dfsg-1
octave from testing8.4.0-1
all others from testingfrom testing

I copied some of the output at the bottom of this report. Normally the
test only takes a couple of minutes, now it times out after 2:47 hours.
I'm notifying you already as this is currently also impacting the perl
transition via texinfo.

Currently this regression is blocking the migration of suitesparse to
testing [1]. Due to the nature of this issue, I filed this bug report
against both packages. Can you please investigate the situation and
reassign the bug to the right package?
