I just tried to reproduce this with 3.2.2-0.7, but couldn't. When debugging either a C or C++ hello-world project (straight from the 'new project' wizard) I can't detect an intermediate shell being used for debugging, rather a GDB instance is started and its output directed to an embedded window.
