Package: wdg-html-validator Version: 1.5.7-1 Severity: wishlist When installing wdg-html-validator, I noticed that the package was depending on wdg-html-reference. The latter being documentation and what it is, is not really necessary for providing *any* functionality for using wdg-html-validator.
And since, from ... http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-relationships.html#s-binarydeps [snip] Depends This declares an absolute dependency. A package will not be configured unless all of the packages listed in its Depends field have been correctly configured. The Depends field should be used if the depended-on package is required for the depending package to provide a significant amount of functionality. [snip] this would be a 'wishlist' category policy violation :-). On a dialup line, the Installed-Size of 4352K may be a little burden for our users.
