Confirmed. With fakeroot-tcp and the RP patch, I am back to usual speed behaviour. With fakeroot (no -tcp), it is dead slow: lexx:~/debian/pkgs/faust-0.9.3% time dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -uc -us ... dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -uc -us 80.96s user 520.75s system 84% cpu 11:55.09 total lexx:~/debian/pkgs/faust-0.9.3% time dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot-tcp -uc -us ... dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot-tcp -uc -us 81.26s user 6.32s system 95% cpu 1:31.43 total Linux lexx 2.6.12.1-rt-v0.7.50-22 #1 Sat Jun 25 15:23:45 CEST 2005 i686 GNU/Linux > If the TCP version doesn't slow down, then the problem might be related > to SYSV IPC. -- CYa, Mario
