The  author of the  package has  claimed that  the README  for version
4.2-1 violates his copyright since it is taken from 
http://www.daemonology.net/bsdif/.

Here  is a  patch  README; I  hereby  assign copyright  in  it to  the
Software in Public Interest that debian continues to have a README for
the application.

This package provides two utilities - bsdiff and bspatch - which create
and patch binary files.

The  package  depends on  bzip2;  and  creates  files which  are  much
smaller.

More details are available in the man pages.

The author  has written  version 6 of  this program  as a part  of his
doctoral thesis, but the  Oxford University claims copyright over that
version.

Ports  for  *BSDs,  Darwin,   and  Microsoft's  operating  system  are
available.   A   python  extension   module   too   is  available   at
