Package: ia32-libs Version: 1.4 The libc6 version shipped with ia32-libs is 2.3.2, while the libc6 version in debian/etch is 2.3.5. This causes problems with locales and 32-bit programs, because they try to access /usr/lib/locale/locale-archive, which seems to have an incompatible format. I noticed the problem when I tried to install Intels ICC compiler, which needs a correct locale to work. This problem can also be reproduced by running a 32-bit "locale" command. I solved it by upgrading the 32-bit libc to 2.3.5. Please consider to update ia32-libs to libc6-2.3.5!
