When I boot my system, I get the following:

Starting portmap daemon: portmap.
Starting MTA: exim4.
Starting internet superserver: inetd.
Starting printer spooler: lpd .
Starting OpenBSD Secure Shell server: sshd.

Note the space between the dot after 'lpd' - it looks ok and no other
packages have a space there.
