This bug is fixed in gcj-4.1. I dont know what fixed it.
I retitle this bug to make it easier when gcj-4.1 enters unstable.

Could you post the actual stack trace?
Run with -consoleLog -debug or look in the
~/.eclipse/org.eclipse.platform_3.1.0/co

To repeat this bug:
1) Open up an ant build file.
2) Hit the key combo for code completion, for instance M-/ in emacs keys
mode.
This generates a dialog saying that code completion didn't complete because
of a NullPointerException.
