Package: lirc Version: 0.7.2-2 Severity: wishlist A new upstream version of lirc (v0.8.0) has finally been released, solving the problems with compiling against recent kernels. (In my case, this is kernel version 2.6.15.)
On a side note, the new configure option `--with-driver=userspace' seems to enable proper packaging, adding support for all drivers to the lirc daemon without actually compiling the relevant kernel modules.
