You've already got a "critical" bug (#375935) on the namespace collision with gromacs, and a request that you avoid the issue by adding a prefix to "average". (I'd have said the obvious candidate was "num", to match "numgrep", "numprocess", and "numsum"). Can I request a similar distinguishing mark for "random"? It's not exactly a namespace collision but there's certainly a snarl-up: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ chkdupexe -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 6376 2006-06-28 22:47 /usr/bin/random -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 4736 2006-04-13 11:08 /usr/games/random [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ whatis random random (4) - kernel random number source devices random (6) - random lines from a file or random numbers random (1) - Print out a random number. random(1) is yours, random(4) is /dev/random, random(6) is in bsdgames. And there are yet more manpages for "random" in packages I haven't got installed here (freebsd-manpages, manpages-dev, manpages-posix-dev). Some of those packages also have manpages for "round", though not executables; and as it happens the reason I first took an interest in num-utils was because of my local Perl script "deltatee", formerly known as "interval". -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (50, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i586) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.17.hurakan Locale: LANG=en_GB, LC_CTYPE=en_GB (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages num-utils depends on: ii perl 5.8.8-4 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction num-utils recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- JBR Ankh kak!
