Package: devscripts
Version: 2.9.20
Severity: wishlist

Hello,
in out of the box discussion [1] "Grep'ing the source for copyright
patterns"
was suggested. It was pointed out that there is already such utility [1],
that is /usr/bin/licensecheck in kdesdk-scripts package, but the annoying
part
is that such neat little perl script pulls in 16MB - mainly because other
parts
of that package depends on python[3]. Therefor, it is probably a good idea
this
script to be forked, renamed and included in devscripts package, thus
maintained
separately for debian packaging purposes, and probably tailored for
DFSG-compliant
    licenses.

    Thanks for you support.
