It appears that most recent zd1211-based hardware actually uses the rev.B 
chipset. 
Unfortunately, this Debian package offers no possibility of requesting that the
zd1211b variant be built. This should be solved by parsing environment 
variables,
but would first require disabling the default variable in the Makefile. 
Alternately,
since a growing majority of hardware is rev.B, the Makefile in zd1211-source 
could 
be made fixed to build zd1211b, instead of zd1211, by default.
