The pattern to detect Poly/ML errors in the inferior process buffer is

"^\\(Error\\|Warning:\\) in '\\(.+\\)', line \\([0-9]+\\)"

(that's file smp-proc.el, line 211).
But Poly/ML error messages actually look like this:

Error: in '/tmp/sml8366iV7', line 5.

That is, the pattern lacks a colon in the Error branch.
Tag upstream if so inclined.
