Ah, ok, i tought you had a debian installed on your g5 and i was asking
you to run xorg on fbdev to know if the nv fb module was broken when
used with X.

Holger's success emboldened me to try it on a couple of my own
PowerMac machines.
It worked flawlessly on my G4 test machine.
