No, it would give me one more reason to ask you to remove this
pointless note :-)

 direct the users to the doc (as it's rather important)?

README.Debian files, package description, NEWS.Debian, manpages,
configuration manuals, etc.

 Would a simple echo would be enough?

No, it has nothing to do there.
