I've seen this bug too. I've left kmail unattended for a while on a couple of occasions, and .xsession-errors grew to about 4GB, which filled the partition to 100%. When I run kmail from an xterm I can see the error-messages scrolling up the screen, many per second. Even after I close

I think the debug messages can be disabled with kdebugdialog, probably the checkbox 7017 kio (KIOConnection). A quick look in the KDE bugzilla show that there are dozens of KDE bugs resulting in a flood of messages in xession-errors:
